As the home for the Covenant Media Center (CMC), The NEO will expand the opportunities for business education & training, media arts, and social entrepreneurship while operating in a professional manner offering the citizens of the region the highest value of service possible. 2.0 THE FACILITIES The Neotropolis Events Odeum (The NEO) is a beautiful state-of-the-art multi-purpose facility on the north side of the George Bush Turnpike, west of Old Denton Road and just east of the Stemmons Freeway (I-35E) in Carrollton, Texas. The operation will generate immediate cash and an excellent return for its shareholders. The NEO sits on four+ acres of land and boast a 36,000 square foot multi-purpose facility and executive office suite. Its unique interior design welcomes community events of all kinds including conferences, seminars, concerts, social mixers, national and regional performances, video productions, corporate training, business meetings, and a myriad of other public and private events. Senior management at the center has over 20 years of experience in planning and execution of special productions and events at a multitude of venues, and expects to host several hundred events a year. The NEO is also the future home of the Covenant Media Center (CMC), a media-based business incubator and production facility. The facility, originally a Cinemark 8 Theater was redesigned by one of the region’s leading architectural firms, NCA Architects and reconstructed by Pogue Construction. The NCA firm has been responsible for many award winning designs in the Southwest, while Pogue has constructed many visible community, municipal and school facilities in the DFW Metroplex including the Mesquite Performance Arts Center, Plano Recreation Center, Collin County Courthouse, McKinney Public Safety Building, Southlake Carroll High, and Rockwall Heath High, along with an a extensive portfolio of medical centers, churches, parks, and private projects. The NEO, with over 500 adjacent, well lit, and secure parking spaces includes a 600 Seat Main Auditorium, 1950’s Diner Style Reception Area, Coffee & Smoothie Bar w/Karaoke Stage, Game/Arcade Areas, Two (2) Smaller Movie Theaters w/200 Seats each, a Basketball Court, Conference & Green Rooms, 15-Spacious Offices on multi-levels, and a Large Community Restroom Area. The Odeum (main auditorium) offers permanent armchair seating for 500 and can expand to 650 seats by positioning an additional 150 folding chairs in the Bleacher sections. The 6,000 square foot auditorium features a extra-large stage, two-green rooms, a conference room, a multi-level audio/lighting booth that produces quality sound and effects lighting, along with IMAG (video) capabilities on three (3) huge video screens (2 @ 13’ x 22' and 1 @ 16’ x 27), which are located on stage left/right and center stage. The excellent audio/video quality of the auditorium makes it ideal for large presentations utilizing video conferencing and multimedia tools. The state-of-the-art technology and configuration of this room is appropriate for concerts, training sessions, lectures, theatrical presentations, meetings, and other similar functions. Multiple marquees illuminate the entrance to The NEO, announcing its current events. The Coca-Cola Canteen, a 1950’s diner style reception area welcomes quest to a full snack stand and soda fountain, neon-lit lined walls, checker board floors and 50’s diner style seating, which makes a great first impression to all who enter the Neotropolis Events Odeum. The Nu-City Caffe’ (Coffee & Smoothie Bar) is a social mixer room for private and public gatherings. An art-deco designed space that features a full line of espresso, latte and cappuccino coffees, along with fruit drinks and frozen smoothies will keep guest energized. The space features a Karaoke stage for aspiring singers, WiFi, and a line of television monitors for viewing your favorite music videos or sporting events. The Nu-City Caffe’ also has a spacious patio area to expand the experience for the quest. The Playroom (Game/Arcade) is 3,500 square feet of flexible space where large parties can enjoy a fun-filled time of billiards, air hockey, foosball, interactive video games, or relax in our Conversation Pit with friends and listen to music. The Playroom also features a regulation size hardwood basketball half-court, which can be utilized as a multi-functional space or to just shoot hoops. Eventually, the basketball court area will be converted into a dance floor with D.J. booth and effects lighting to fill the need for those who like to dance and to provide a space for special functions. Theater I & II are smaller auditoriums designed to accommodate 200 guests per. Each theater is equipped with a professional projector for watching a movie or a special video presentation. The configuration and design of these theaters are also appropriate for training sessions, lectures, meetings, and other similar functions. Future plans are to convert the theaters into a digital media studio, which will provide audio and video recording services. Theater I will be a 1,000 square foot sound stage with lighting grid and video ports for multi-camera shoots. This theater will also be utilized as a meeting room for conference breakouts and a movie theater. Theater II (1000 sq ft) will be converted into a digital media control room with audio recording booth and video effects lab with green screen. This state-of-the-art control room will house a video switcher, video shading, character generator, image monitoring and digital audio mixer, and will link high-quality productions within the Theater I sound stage and the Theater II effects lab & recording booth. The NEO facility also features two large green rooms for guest presenters/performers in the main auditorium. These rooms have the comfort of home and are a welcoming retreat for guest before or after an event. A large executive conference room is just adjacent to the main auditorium for client pre & post production meetings. The conference room is also accessible for the executive office and CMC tenants. The 6,500 square foot multi-level executive suite within The NEO has 15-spacious individual offices, an expanded suite with multiple cubicles and private office, receptionist area, break room, copy/fax/mail room, several storage areas, bathrooms upstairs and down, a large media/technology supply room, and all levels can be accessed via stairs or elevator. The art-deco design and well thought out space will house The NEO management team, and the other offices will be subleased to social entrepreneurs through the CMC business incubator program. Future plans are to convert several rooms into pre-production audio stations, video editing suites, and an audio & lighting control room for the Game/Arcade Playroom, along with adding a computer server space within the large media/technology supply room. 3.0 THE MARKET Within 25 miles of the Neotropolis Events Odeum (The NEO), the population is approximately 3.6 million, representing 78 percent of the population of the Dallas Metroplex MSA area. It is expected that The NEO will become a “hotspot” and draw from this area for external, market-driven events such as concerts, social mixers, family events, consumer presentations, and various corporate and private functions. One-fourth of households within 10 miles of The NEO have annual incomes that exceed $120,000. Local corporations and organizations that abound the immediate area, along with the City of Carrollton could play a significant role in the overall success of the center by hosting meetings, conferences, and conventions, which will expect an extremely high quality of service from the facility. There is no operation of this type in the immediate area and the City of Carrollton currently does not have a convention center to attract business meetings to the area so, The NEO is the only conference and event service provider in the region and fills a void in the community. It is expected that regional and national use of the facility could be quite extensive. 4.0 MANAGEMENT TEAM The Neotropolis Events Odeum (The NEO) management team consist of Edwin Rafael Francis, a social entrepreneur in the media industry specializing in project management, audio/video productions, creative marketing and sales, Allan Wright, a broadcast engineer, technical director, television producer, video editor and business owner, Rochelle Molina, a event planner and promoter, networking, sales and marketing specialist, TV host, recording artist, property manager, Gilbert “Wizdom” Rivera, a audio/video supervisor, concert & record producer, event coordinator and professional musician, Darcie Davis, a executive administrator, production coordinator, associate producer, staff/volunteer manager, Percy Page, a electrician, commercial property supervisor-maintenance, a/v technician. All members of the management team have extensive experience, expertise, and networking associations in business, education, and all aspects of the entertainment industry and are committed in making The NEO, L3C venture a highly successful operation.
