2. Extrinsic Motivation
Definition: Motivation that comes from external of an individual.
Concept applied: Robert is motivated by the reward which is his sister’s
secret recipe. Therefore, he work hard to archive an A in his test in order
to eat his sister’s secret recipe.
3. Schema
Definition: A cognitive framework or concept that helps organize and interpret
information.
Concept applied: Robert’s sister does not have to refer to the book when she cooks
the spaghetti as the process of making the spaghetti is already develops and stored
in sister’s memory.
4. Discrimination
Definition: The unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people,
individual or things.
Concept applied: Robert discriminate the bikers in this video. He thinks that all
bikers are bad and disturbing, so he quickly go home to avoid the bikers.
5. Post-decision dissonance
Definition: A form of regret or worry that perhaps we did not make the best choice.
Concept applied: Robert feels regret when he is on the way home after finished
watching football with his friends. He thinks that he should had studying at home
especially when Manchester United lost the game.
6. Dispositional attribution
Definition: The assumption that a person’s behaviour reflects his internal
dispositions like his personality, beliefs, attitude and etc.
Concept applied: Robert assumes that Jacob will not get a good grade for his exam
when all the students get their exam papers. In Robert’s mind, he judges Jacob that
he is lazy and will not study for his exam.
He is so lazy.
