TheLaserCompany.com1 The Laser Companywas founded in 2001 by Philip Whyte, who draws on over 30+ years’ experience in the engineering and electronics industry, working for such companies as Intel, Motorola, Fujitsu Microelectronics and Lasertec. The company has humble beginnings, initially starting out with one small CO2 laser. With this laser, Philip began serving a small number of customers, many of which are still using our services today. As business grew, the equipment and services being offered increased with the addition of a CNC router, CNC mill and a growing team of dedicated staff. Over recent years with the addition of CNC systems and additional staff, The Laser Company has developed a unique advantage over many precision engineering companies. We can provide our customers with a wide variety of services such as CNC micromachining, milling, routing, fibre laser marking, CO2 laser cutting/marking and fabrication/assembly. - 4. TheLaserCompany.com3 Laser Cutting Here atThe Laser Company, we utilise both CO2 and Fibre laser systems, each with their own specific advantages. One use of lasers is for the cutting of materials. We have the capabilities of cutting a wide variety of non-metal materials using the laser, including, but not limited to Acrylic/PMMA, ABS, PETG, Plywood, Polypropylene and many others. Laser Engraving Laser engraving is the removal of a materials surface in order to leave a cavity which can be noticed by sight and touch. At The Laser Company, utilising both Fiber and CO2 laser systems, we can laser engrave a large number of materials, ranging from stainless steel to plywood. Laser Marking Laser marking does not remove any material surface but still creates a visible mark on the surface. This method of marking is suitable for a wide variety of plastics/metals. Laser marking is an excellent method of applying logos, identification, scales and has many other applications depending on the job. The use of a Fibre laser also allows for the annealing/polishing of metals. Depending on what you are trying to achieve, we have experience and expertise in to advise on the best material and method to get you there. - 5. TheLaserCompany.com 4 CNC milling CNC(Computer Numerical Controlled) machining is a machining process which combines milling, drilling and tapping in order to create a part. At the laser company, we manufacture individual prototypes right up to production volume orders. We have experience in machining a wide variety of materials and products. CNC routing CNC routing is used for many metals, woods and plastics. Our CNC router allows us to machine large format sheet material (1m x 1m) in both 2D & 3D operations. Assembly/Fabrication At The Laser Company, we provide our customers with a “One-Stop Shop” service. The Laser Company offers in house assembly along with the fabrication of larger format parts. Utilising our wide reaching industrial partners, we can cater for almost any job.
