Finding joy in learning, known as the J-Factor, leads to higher student achievement according to research. Teachers can cultivate the J-Factor through fun and engaging classroom activities in five categories: 1) fun games, 2) developing a sense of belonging and community, 3) using drama, song, and dance, 4) incorporating humor, and 5) adding suspense and surprise to break up routines. These J-Factor techniques help students better remember and engage with lesson content by making learning an enjoyable experience.
