Mindfulness increases awareness of our emotions and teaches us to manage them better, leading to improved mood.
Regular mindfulness practice can improve our ability to concentrate and focus our attention on the present moment.
Slide 4: Benefits of Mindfulness for Physical Health
Research has shown that practicing mindfulness can contribute to lowering blood pressure, which is beneficial for heart health.
Regular meditation and mindfulness practice can strengthen the immune system, aiding the body in fighting infections.
Mindfulness may help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as type 2 diabetes and obesity by reducing stress and improving overall lifestyle habits.
Slide 5: Impact of Mindfulness on Relationships
Mindfulness can help us better understand others and improve communication, leading to healthier relationships.
By focusing on the present moment and being fully attentive, mindfulness helps build stronger and more authentic connections with others.
Mindfulness teaches us how to be present for others in difficult times, leading to increased compassion and understanding.
Slide 6: Mindfulness Techniques and Practices
Focusing on the breath and mindful breathing can be a simple way to enter a state of mindfulness.
Body scan meditation involves focusing on different parts of the body, paying attention to any sensations and feelings.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

When they grew up, Abel became a shepherd, while Cain cultivated the
ground. 3 When it was time for the harvest, Cain presented some of his crops
as a gift to the Lord. 4 Abel also brought a gift—the best of the firstborn lambs
from his flock. The Lord accepted Abel and his gift, 5 but he did not accept
Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected.
6 ―Why are you so angry?‖ the Lord asked Cain. ―Why do you look so
dejected? 7 You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do
what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control

cut off the flesh of your foreskin as a sign of the covenant between me
and you. 12 From generation to generation, every male child must be
circumcised on the eighth day after his birth. This applies not only to
members of your family but also to the servants born in your
household and the foreign-born servants whom you have purchased.

21. Hebrews 10
11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices,
which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at
the right hand of God, 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. 14 For by one
sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.
15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:
16 ―This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their
hearts, and I will write them on their minds.‖[a]
17 Then he adds:
―Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.‖[b]
18 And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.
22. John 15
12 My command is this: Love each other as I have
loved you. 13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay
down one‘s life for one‘s friends. 14 You are my friends
if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you
servants, because a servant does not know his
master‘s business. Instead, I have called you friends,
for everything that I learned from my Father I have
made known to you.
23. Matthew 5
17 ―Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I
have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. 18 For truly I tell
you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the
least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until
everything is accomplished. 19 Therefore anyone who sets aside one
of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will
be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and
teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of
heaven. 20 For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses
that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not
enter the kingdom of heaven.
24. John 1
17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and
truth came through Jesus Christ.
25. Ceremonial Law
Related specifically to Israel‘s worship (Lev 1,2,3). It‘s
primary purpose was to point forward to Jesus Christ;
these laws, therefore, were not longer necessary after
Jesus‘ death and resurrection. While we are no longer
bound by ceremonial law, the principles behind them –
to worship and love a holy God – still apply. Jesus was
accused by the Pharisees of violating ceremonial law.
(Life Application Study Bible)
26. Civil Law
Applied to the daily living in Israel (Deu 24:10,11).
Because modern society and culture are so radically
different from that time and setting, all of these
guidelines cannot be followed specifically. But the
principles behind the commands are timeless and
should guide our conduct. Jesus demonstrated these
principles by example. (Life Application Study Bible)
27. Moral Law
Is the direct command from God (10 commandments),
and requires strict obedience. The moral law reveals
the nature and will of God, and it still applies today.
Jesus obeyed the moral law completely. (Life
Application Study Bible)
28. Colossians 2
11 When you came to Christ, you were ―circumcised,‖ but not by a
physical procedure. Christ performed a spiritual circumcision—the
cutting away of your sinful nature.[c] 12 For you were buried with
Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new
life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ
from the dead.13 You were dead because of your sins and because
your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive
with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. 14 He canceled the record of
the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross.
15 In this way, he disarmed[d] the spiritual rulers and authorities. He
shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.
29. Colossians 2
16 So don‘t let anyone condemn you for what you eat or
drink, or for not celebrating certain holy days or new moon
ceremonies or Sabbaths. 17 For these rules are only
shadows of the reality yet to come. And Christ himself is that
reality. 18 Don‘t let anyone condemn you by insisting on
pious self-denial or the worship of angels,[e] saying they
have had visions about these things. Their sinful minds have
made them proud, 19 and they are not connected to Christ,
the head of the body. For he holds the whole body together
with its joints and ligaments, and it grows as God nourishes
it.
30. Colossians 2
20 You have died with Christ, and he has set you free from
the spiritual powers of this world. So why do you keep on
following the rules of the world, such as, 21 ―Don‘t handle!
Don‘t taste! Don‘t touch!‖? 22 Such rules are mere human
teachings about things that deteriorate as we use them.
23 These rules may seem wise because they require strong
devotion, pious self-denial, and severe bodily discipline. But
they provide no help in conquering a person‘s evil desires.
31. Acts 15
1 While Paul and Barnabas were at Antioch of Syria, some
men from Judea arrived and began to teach the
believers[a]: ―Unless you are circumcised as required by the
law of Moses, you cannot be saved.‖ 2 Paul and Barnabas
disagreed with them, arguing vehemently.
5 But then some of the believers who belonged to the sect
of the Pharisees stood up and insisted, ―The Gentile
converts must be circumcised and required to follow the law
of Moses.‖
32. Acts 15
6 So the apostles and elders met together to resolve this issue. 7 At the meeting, after a
long discussion, Peter stood and addressed them as follows: ―Brothers, you all know that
God chose me from among you some time ago to preach to the Gentiles so that they
could hear the Good News and believe. 8 God knows people‘s hearts, and he confirmed
that he accepts Gentiles by giving them the Holy Spirit, just as he did to us. 9 He made no
distinction between us and them, for he cleansed their hearts through faith. 10 So why are
you now challenging God by burdening the Gentile believers[b] with a yoke that neither
we nor our ancestors were able to bear? 11 We believe that we are all saved the same
way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus.‖
33. Acts 15
19 ―And so my judgment is that we should not make it
difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God.
20 Instead, we should write and tell them to abstain
from eating food offered to idols, from sexual
immorality, from eating the meat of strangled animals,
and from consuming blood. 21 For these laws of Moses
have been preached in Jewish synagogues in every
city on every Sabbath for many generations.‖
34. Acts 15
28 ―For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to
lay no greater burden on you than these few
requirements: 29 You must abstain from eating food
offered to idols, from consuming blood or the meat of
strangled animals, and from sexual immorality. If you
do this, you will do well. Farewell.‖
35. Acts 18
18 Paul stayed in Corinth for some time after that, then
said good-bye to the brothers and sisters[d] and went
to nearby Cenchrea. There he shaved his head
according to Jewish custom, marking the end of a vow.
36. Numbers 6
Then the Lord said to Moses, 2 ―Give the following instructions to the people of Israel.
―If any of the people, either men or women, take the special vow of a Nazirite, setting
themselves apart to the Lord in a special way, 3 they must give up wine and other
alcoholic drinks. They must not use vinegar made from wine or from other alcoholic
drinks, they must not drink fresh grape juice, and they must not eat grapes or raisins.
4 As long as they are bound by their Nazirite vow, they are not allowed to eat or drink
anything that comes from a grapevine—not even the grape seeds or skins.
5 ―They must never cut their hair throughout the time of their vow, for they are holy and
set apart to the Lord. Until the time of their vow has been fulfilled, they must let their hair
grow long. 6 And they must not go near a dead body during the entire period of their vow
to the Lord. 7 Even if the dead person is their own father, mother, brother, or sister, they
must not defile themselves, for the hair on their head is the symbol of their separation to
God. 8 This requirement applies as long as they are set apart to the Lord.
37. Conclusion
Jeremiah 31:33 ―But this is the new covenant I will
make with the people of Israel on that day,‖ says the
Lord. ―I will put my instructions deep within them, and I
will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and
they will be my people.
38. Conclusion
