An online presentation that illustrates how consumers use technology and its impact on their lives. The document is a summary of comprehensive online research that explains how audiences use technology and its impact on their lives.
The way we access the internet has changed rapidly over the past few years, transitioning from desktops to mobile devices.
Now, the internet is expanding again — coming to all of the everyday devices found in our homes, businesses, and cities.
We’ve created a slideshow highlighting the most important ways the Internet of Everything market will develop, the benefits newly connected devices will offer consumers and businesses, and the potential barriers that could inhibit growth.
New Report by Jessica Groopman
The digitalization of our physical world—what many are now calling the ‘Internet of
Things’—is challenging our expectations of privacy.
Adding sensors to ourselves, and to the objects and places around us, renders our
physical world communicable, contextual, and trackable. The full implications of
ubiquitous connectivity remain blurry, but Altimeter Group’s survey of 2,062 American
consumers makes one point crystal clear: Consumers are decidedly anxious about
how companies use and share data from their connected devices. Our research finds
a massive gulf between consumer awareness and industry practices when it comes
to privacy. But this data reveals more than a concerned citizenry, it reveals tremendous
opportunities for companies to foster more trusted customer relationships.

Over the past 30 years the mobile industry has evolved from a fragmented, vehicle centric, low volume, high priced, business focused service, into a global mobile broadband business that has created new industries, new use-cases, billions of customer and innovative devices. The variety of mobile devices is about to explode as the mobile industry moves into what could be described as the third wave of Internet connectivity - a world where billions of “things” are connected. The next few years therefore promises to be as exciting and potentially as disruptive as the past 30 years.

Wearables devices market and technologyKevin Huang
What is wearable technology?
Simply put, it’s technology that you incorporate into things you wear on a day-to-day basis, and it could be anything from a smart watch, augmented reality glasses, or even a personal health monitor in the form of a bracelet.
The idea is that technology will increasingly become more part of our daily lives, and it will become less intrusive, as it will be part of our clothing, and sometimes even part of our bodies!
Wearable tech presents a fascinating field to study. I have conducted some researches and hope you can also learn more about this high growth market.

Time to think beyond the ‘Internet of Things’. Consumers are embracing a network of connected objects that actively care for their physical and mental wellbeing, homes, loved ones and more.
Over 1 billion more people will use mobile phones by 2020 compared to 2015. Ten countries will account for 70% of this growth, with India leading an Asian charge that will account for 55% of global subscriber growth. This will rebalance the concentration of consumer purchasing power and technology innovation. The platform economy uses smartphones, software and open APIs to create and scale new digital marketplaces for a huge range of services and products
Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

A tale of scale & speed: How the US Navy is enabling software delivery from l...sonjaschweigert1
Rapid and secure feature delivery is a goal across every application team and every branch of the DoD. The Navy’s DevSecOps platform, Party Barge, has achieved:
- Reduction in onboarding time from 5 weeks to 1 day
- Improved developer experience and productivity through actionable findings and reduction of false positives
- Maintenance of superior security standards and inherent policy enforcement with Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Development teams can ship efficiently and ensure applications are cyber ready for Navy Authorizing Officials (AOs). In this webinar, Sigma Defense and Anchore will give attendees a look behind the scenes and demo secure pipeline automation and security artifacts that speed up application ATO and time to production.
We will cover:
- How to remove silos in DevSecOps
- How to build efficient development pipeline roles and component templates
- How to deliver security artifacts that matter for ATO’s (SBOMs, vulnerability reports, and policy evidence)
- How to streamline operations with automated policy checks on container images

What is The Internet of Things (IoT)
Source: Wikipedia
The Internet of Things (IoT) is the network of physical objects or "things"
embedded with electronics, software, sensors and connectivity to enable it to
achieve greater value and service by exchanging data with the manufacturer,
operator and/or other connected devices. Each thing is uniquely identifiable
through its embedded computing system but is able to interoperate within the
existing Internet infrastructure.
Another words: Physical world connected by using the internet as the backbone.

How will the Internet of Things
affect our everyday life?
5. February 26, 2015 5
64% say the reason they haven't purchased
an in-home IoT device is because they were not aware that smart
fridges and smoke detectors are even available for purchase;
40% didn't know that wearable technology was available. Lack of
perceived value of IoT and wearables is the top barrier to mass
adoption.
