Now data IS the business. And it’s more diverse, distributed, and dynamic that it ever has been.
Data management has never been more important.
Vendors that help customers manage and safeguard data will lead next era of I.T.
Edge computing is evolving to be industry-specific, AI-driven, analytics-enabled and cloud integrated.
For AI/ML, edge increasingly becomes the venue for data inference, while cloud is for data training; as a result, compute capability and intelligence is moving to the edge endpoints
As number of endpoint systems outgrows other categories, the endpoint will have the most collective compute capability, driving edge computing presenting larger opportunity for AI than cloud
The fact base points to three big market transitions: 1) Disk to flash
2) Traditional IT to private cloud
3) On-prem to public cloud

What are containers/ microservices
Containers allow you to package your application together with libraries and other dependencies, providing isolated environments for running your software services.
Create predictable enviornments that are isolated from other applications. Also include software dependenceis needed by the application, such as specifici versions of programming language runtimes, and other software libraries.
Run Anywhere
- Run virutally anywhere, greatly easindg developmnet and deployment on various operaitng systmes
Isolation
- Containers Virtualize CPU, memory, storage and network resources at the OS level, providing developers with a sandboxed view of the OS logically isolated from other applications

Have a Highlight Reel
You have limited time to stand out. Being unique throughout the process will help tremendously.
First impressions never die.
First impressions may happen before you are prepared (at a coffee shop, career fair, riding in your car, etc.)
When you have a defined brand, your experience/interactions become consistent. Think about everyone in the recruiting process (not just manager). ALL of those first impressions matter. Feedback can go back to manager.
What not to do:
Come to an interview unprepared/disheveled.
Bright, distracting clothing. Your outfit shouldn’t be the main attraction.
Don’t want to knock it out of the park, but they were distracted.
What to do:
Prepare
Be present and honest
Eye Contact
Telling your story goes beyond what you say. What you do says volumes about you as well.
Remember, first impressions last. Don’t let something as small as professional attire or body language throw up roadblocks before you’ve even said a word.
Today’s world – In Person, On Paper, ONLINE
Don’t want to hide behind a mask. Decide who you want to be and be it.
Communicate your unique promise of value to people who are making decisions about you in the real and virtual world.
You’ve probably spent some time on your resume – and that’s great. Now take it online.
Your branded bio is just as important as your resume, especially in the day and age of LinkedIn
Importance of Online

Starting Point
Google Your Name
Identifying your values, passions, and purpose is not a simple feat. Many good TEDx Talks about passions.
Values are the things you care the most about and want as a part of your everyday environment.
Your feelings drive your passion. Get outside of your comfort to find new passions.
Your Purpose is the why behind it all.
Exploring your passions while living a purposeful life in an environment that aligns with your values is the ultimate goal.
For values, it is great to write down 5 values every year or two to see how you change/what you care about. Finding a company that aligns with these values will lead to much higher job satisfaction.
TAKE A BREAK TO WRITE DOWN YOUR 5 Values
Your values, passions, and purpose WILL change during the course of your life. It is okay for this to happen! Do not spend your whole life stressing over finding your ultimate passion or purpose.
Strive to get outside of your comfort zone and enjoy yourself while doing it. That’s what it’s all about.
Personal Story
4 days on a remote island camping on the beach to reflect back on a summer internship and 4 years of adventuring through college to really hone in on what I was passionate about – Helping others realize, develop, and unlock their unlimited potential…
Annual solo trip every year to connect back to analyze whether my passions have changed. What do I value more/less that I used to?

How well you are prepared before the interview will determine how well your interview is going to go. Even if you are not sure what questions you will be asked, there are key areas you should focus on when researching about the company and the job.
Research areas:
Company: history, current focus and opportunities
Role & best practices for the position
Products and/or services
Industry: segments and competition
Research Tools:
LinkedIn
Glassdoor
Informal conversations with people at the company or in a similar role
Search for ”best practices” for the role
Search for ”common questions” for the role at that company
Rehearse common questions
Have a list of questions for the employer

Your energy and mindset. Are you thinking positive?
Continuous eye contact
There are 5 key areas that make for a good interview and we will dive into each of these in the upcoming slides.
Good first impressions. You hear the saying, first impressions never die.
Being Prepared. How much research have you done on the job you are interviewing for and about the company
Able to speak to all the great accomplishments and Skills sets listed on your resume
Did you ask good questions that shows your interest in the job?
Learn to Ask for the Job. Did you walk without asking on a status or following up?
Are you asking the right questions in the right order?
Employers like it when you ask questions relevant to the role, the company, the culture. It shows your interest and passion for learning more about the opportunity and what it entails.
The most common mistake at a job interview is failing to ask for the job
What do they mean “ask for the job?”
Many applicants think that submitting an application, writing a cover letter, and showing up for the interview is known as “asking for the job?”
Ways to “ask for the job”
Collect contact information from each person who interviewed you – name, job title, email address (so sending the post-interview thank you notes is easier to do)
Ask who you should stay in touch with after the interview to learn the status of the opportunity with contact name, job title, and email address.
Ask if you could reconnect once every week or two, and the preferred way of contact during the post-interview period.
