12. Interview Preparation
Thoroughly review the website and make sure you know who the company is and what they
do. Take notes that you can have during the interview
Prepare specific examples of your experience. Listen to the question being asked and stay on
point.
Make sure you sound genuinely excited about the opportunity.
Review the job description and prepare short examples of how your past experience relates
to the bullet points they want in a candidate. Again, jot these down on the same notepad in
case you need to “jumpstart” your memory.
Review your resume. Everything you have listed on there is fair game for an interview
question and you need to be prepared to talk about anything and everything on there.
Have 3-5 prepared questions for your interviewer.
13. Interview Best Practices
Types of Interview Questions:
• Transactional/Informational
• What was your last position/title?
• Situational/Behavioral
• When have you resolved an issue
independently under a tight
deadline?
How to answer Situational/Behavioral
Questions?
Utilize the STAR Method!
S = Situation
T = Task
A = Action
R = Result
This allows the candidate to provide a
concise and specific response.
