Without context and proper word meaning, verses like, Matthew 7:1, are easily misinterpreted. On the subject of judgment, the Bible teaches the right approach; discerning right from wrong while encouraging forgiveness of wrong.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.

32. SELF-CENTREDNESS .
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with
all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest
commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as
yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two
commandments.”

33. SELF-SUFFIENCY .
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or
drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food,
and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they
do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly
Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

35. ENVY .
Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the
Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority
over them. 26 Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become
great among you must be your servant, 27 and whoever wants to be
first must be your slave— 28 just as the Son of Man did not come to
be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But
store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and
vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.

Matthew 6:19

39. PUT-DOWNS .
But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be
subject to judgment. Again, anyone who says to a brother or sister,
‘Raca,’ is answerable to the court. And anyone who says, ‘You fool!’
will be in danger of the fire of hell.

wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well. 41
If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles.
