The boys are shocked when their dad announces that they will be going to sea for a year. They adjust to life on their boat, but their dad suffers a serious shark bite. The boys take on more responsibilities while he recovers. Later, their dad disappears during a storm. The boys are stranded at sea without him. They eventually make it to an island but face more hardships, including a broken leg. They are eventually rescued and reunited with their dad, though Ben struggles to accept his explanation for disappearing. In the end, Ben chooses to stay with his family.

2. Ben, Dylan, and Gerry are shocked to hear that there dad has made the decision that they are all going to sea for a year. The boys are sad that they are leaving, but are excited to have new adventures. The Big Announcement!

3. They are done driving to the place there new boat is. The boats name is Chryslalis. They are packed up and ready to leave. They finally take off and are off to sea. Finally leaving

6. Their dad was going out hunting when everything went wrong. He swam under the boat and there was a shark. He tried to get away but he couldn’t. The shark got a hold of him. He got a huge gash straight down the middle of his hand. The Big Cut

7. The boys had been doing all of the boat jobs since there dads injury. Dylan was in charge of changing his dads bandages. The dad finally got better and they were back to normal life; at least that’s what they thought. Racing Toward Recovery

8. The boys woke up one morning only to notice that there dad was MISSING! They searched everywhere but could not find him! They were panicked because they knew that a huge storm was coming there way. Ben thought that there dad had committed suicide because there was a note left after. Where did he go?

9. A couple nights after there dad was missing they were all laying in bed when they heard a big thump! Ben woke up to see what was going on. He saw a huge 50 foot wave heading straight toward them! He rushed to cover everything. How could he do this without his dad he wondered? He knew that he had to be brave. That night he stayed out and fought the storm by himself until the morning when Dylan came out to take over. The Big Storm!

10. After the storm the boys were exhausted! They needed to sit down and rest. Ben parked the boat, and they stayed there for a couple of days. Taking a Rest

11. Ben found an island and he is planning for them to say there for awhile. They take the dinghy out to the island, and they take all of there supplies. Once they arrived Ben wentout to find the boat but when he gets there, the boat is gone! The Island

12. The boys have adjusted to life on the island. Ben builds a new boat so that he could go out and find food. Dylan and Gerry find food on the island too. But one night Dylan goes out by himself to find food, but when he doesn’t come back Ben gets suspicious and tries to go find him. When Ben gets to where Dylan is, he sees that he is on a cliff, and his bone is sticking out of his leg! Ben runs back to get a rope so that he could pull Dylan up from the cliff. We like it Here!

13. Once Dylan gets back to the island, he makes the decision for Ben to pop his leg back in place. Ben grabbed his leg and pulled it back into place! Then they wrap his leg in a piece of cloth, and hope for it to get better. How to fix the Broken Leg!

14. One normal day on the island a boat came passing by, and Ben yelled for them to come help them! The boat came over! Then they sent the Dinghy over, and the boys got in. The captain took them to the nearest hospital so that they all could get clean and better. The Rescue!

15. One night when they were in the hospital room together, someone walked in.It was there dad! He said that the night he disappeared that he was doing a safety check. He said when a wave hit he accidentally fell overboard. Then the wave pushed him away. But luckily he said that he had the EPIRB with him. He called for people to come and get him. After he was rescued he sent people out to look for them, but the storm blew them too far. Who is That?

16. When Bens dad told them the story, Ben didn’t believe him! He still believed that he tried to commit suicide since he saw the letter. Ben went outside the hospital, and tried to look for a job.
