Frank Gehry designed the Gold Fish sculpture in Barcelona for the 1992 Olympics. The sculpture is made of intersecting copper wires formed into an asymmetrical shape resembling a fish. Gehry was inspired by the freedom of fish bodies and used computer modeling for the first time to design the complex curving structure. The Gold Fish reflects light and marks the entrance to the Olympic Port area. Gehry is known for his unusual sculptural buildings made of unusual materials and forms, including the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain.
