The Ginés-Mera Fellowship funds postgraduate studies in biodiversity in honor of Dr. Maria Jesus Ginés and Ms. Veronique Mera. It received 46 applications and approved 22 fellowships for students in Asia, Africa, and Latin America studying topics like molecular characterization of agrobiodiversity and community-based conservation. The fellowship has supported students' MSc and PhD research, which has been published in refereed journals and helped recipients' professional and personal growth.
