This document discusses the evolution of platform as a service (PaaS) over time. It argues that PaaS is no longer defined by proprietary platforms, as open source tools now allow developers to build their own PaaS solutions using containers and orchestration. The future of PaaS involves a more distributed model where specialized PaaS are built for different domains, and businesses may pay for support, usage-based pricing, or fully-managed services rather than proprietary platforms. Overall, the document suggests that PaaS as a concept is still relevant even if the traditional definition is changing.

1.Background and analysis of Dubai Municipality (DM)
1. Organizationbackground ofDubai Municipality
The origin of Dubai Municipality was founded in 1954 commencing its activities with a cadre of seven
employees undertaking simple tasks in cleaning the city.
The first decree establishing the Municipality was on February 28, 1957, whereby 23 municipal council
members had been appointed from the elders of the country and traders with limited powers, the most
important of which was to take care of health and architectural affairs of the city as well as to organize
construction and beautification of the city and provide constructive suggestions to the government.
Dubai Municipality passed a series of evolutionary stages through the years of its multiplied
tasks, including:
In the 1 974 His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, God rest his soul, issued a decree
establishing the municipality, which nullified the former order to establish the municipality and stated to
establish the new Dubai Municipality having independent characteristics, morals and powers within the
entire emirate that includes the Municipal Council and the administration body, which executes the policy
and directives and in accordance with the decree.
In 1980 a decree had been issued establishing the Municipal Council appointing 32 members headed by
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Municipality.
Chairman
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

B. Organizationkey services and Sales
1- Sales:
Dubai Municipality is a government sector which provide the services for the public and sales not from
their scope.
2- Services:
We meet customer needs by providing a set of services which include the following : - public health and
safety ,environment, coasts &green area, urban planning & construction, projects &infrastructure,
recreation & heritage.
2. Management Leadership Style:
Dubai Municipality follows Bureaucratic leading style to perform routine tasks. This is appropriate for
work involving use of dangerous or delicate equipment. Bureaucratic leadership is also useful for tasks
that require handling cash.
This style is much less effective in teams and organizations that rely on flexibility, creativity, or
innovation.
Hierarchy of authority: The hierarchy of authority in an organization is designed to benefit the company
and the employees. The company grows with the strength of a competent managerial staff, and employees
look to management to provide career development.
Let me give an example, for supplier when wants to release his bank guarantee but when we are check in
the system he still not supply all the material to us as per contract and needs of the concern department So,
we should always follows the polices and procedure. And the supplier know that should they supply all
martials as per contract to release the bank guarantee. And because these procedures are routine, this will
considered Bureaucratic leadership style.

3.Details of the internship experience:
1.Release of suppliers for materials purchasedwholesale private bank
guarantee
Meaning is the performing procedures for the release of suppliers for materials purchased your wholesale
bank guarantee after coordination with the concerned department to make sure of the supply system by
warehouses. As in particle, we check in system if the supplier supply all material or not. In this assignment
I can add to my knowledge about the value of doing that and we really practice in work placement so we
can get experience to deal in smeller case. Now I will explain three important topic in details as
following:-
The tasks are linkedto Internshiplearning objectives:
1- Demonstrated systems thinking ability
2- Understands database operations
3- Demonstrate ability to plan and organize for tasks and information.
Challenges relatedtothis task:
1- release bank guarantee for supplier before makesure it supply all material.
2- Systemproblem if it became hanging while we are check the status for suppler and
make release for it.
3- Lostthe original bank guarantee fromthe contract and the supplier not supply the
material to us.
Learning Experience that gainedfromthis assignment:

2-makeaudit beforemake release bank guarantee
3- reserved our right fromthe supplier

2. Apply the acquiredknowledge when performingfield linked tasks.
In Particle meaning, take the requisition number for the order fromthe concern person
which sent fromthe concern department to get the stock. During my daily work usethe
systeml think it’s good as it makeeasier for us to know the information of requisitions
like location and number of quantity but other hand we face challenge which we talk
about in details now.
The tasks are linkedto Internshiplearning objectives:
1- Demonstrates knowledge of program design and planning
2- Attentive to detail
3- Demonstrates knowledge of program
evaluation
Challenges relatedtothis task:
1- Itbecame hanging for long time
2- I cannot put all item once time should put
item by item so the systemcan recognize
the order.
3- Receive many requisition number in
same time
Learning Experience that gainedfromthis

4.Evaluation of the Dubai Municipality
A. SWOT analysis of Dubai Municipality
As I trained at Dubai Municipality , I did great part in SWOT analysis of warehouse department , and I
spent great time on working at this assignment and sharing knowledge with staff so I can realize the
strength, weakness, opportunities and threats from the strategic of the department.
Strength
It’s governmentalCompany.
Employee training
An attractive work environment
Weaknesses
employee resignation.
knowledgetransfer
An inventory management unit area
Opportunities
Tawteen
Electronic link between the
governmentand private agencies
The development of procedures
and regulations in terms of
dealing with suppliers
Threats
Staff loyalty.
Demand only to specific suppler.
lack in technology
Strength
Dubai Municipality is governmentcompany that make more value when deal with the
supplier as the supplier become more accuracy and careful to not cheat and
embezzlement when tendering and supply of materials. Also the department put plan for
every employee to improveand develop their self by enrolling training course relating to
the functions section so we can develop the section to keep up with the developments
happen in the country .In other Hand they make good work placement for University
graduates to choosethe department by give them all what they will need in labor market
then we choosethe clever graduator whoseinterest to work with us by provide good
offer for them so we can renewal human resource.

Weaknesses
As we follow Dubai HR policy we cannot promotion any employee until he qualified the
new position so that make a lot employee resignation. For example if wehave position
grade 11 and wewant to promotion employee he not qualified for all condition require in
the new position we cannot promoted him so that make him frustrated and resign. In
addition knowledgetransfer fromold employee to new employee is difficult because the
old employee who knows every singlethings in department will not give all this
information for new employee for many reason like a fried to take his position or get
promotion even he still new and he was old employee still not get any promotion they do
not know the promotion depended to the quality in the work nothow long in
department. In other hand we face difficulty in an inventory management unit area about
sizeas sometime we receive many materials fromdifferent supplier in same time and all
martials should built new location to located in the store but because do not have
locution in storeso it called “ stagnantmaterials” for that we need to extend the sizeof
the unit .
Opportunities
As we creative comfortable work environment and a lot of UAE national become
Specialization in supply chain so we can hire them as they will know more aboutlocal
market requirement. Also we need to make electronic link between our systemand bank
systemfor release bank guarantee instead to providedocument for supplier to make
release we can make it throw link systemso become smartsystem. In other hand we
have to development a procedures and regulation in term of dealing with suppliers not
only depended to bank guarantee to saveour right also should haveprocedures that
make supplier avoid to cheat with us .
14. 14 | P a g e
Threats
The loyalty is very important to be in staff as our work naturalwe deal with a lot of tender
to choose any of them providegood quality with good price if the employee do not have
loyalty it can give all secret information for any contract to anther tender and get money
for that in the oration the employee know aboutwork ethic which the most important is
loyalty. In addition should not demand only to specific suppler to supply this materials as
it causethe supplier will raisethe price more that market value becausehe know wewill
not contact with other supplier or this supplier left the country due to bankruptcy for
that we should have many supplier for every item. Although we havelack in technology as
we should develop our systemwhich use recently to adopt the new requirement like
when Utilized about the item when we do daily inventory items. ‘PDA” the system
hanging long time we should have more than two systemand to be smartsystemto save
our time and effort.
B. Recommendation for improvement
Actually, l have somerecommendation to my workplace; recommendation seeks for more
improvement in the entire business. I will illustrate my recommendation in some work
assignment that l did.
I have few recommendation that improve their business way like to utilized about the
item when we do daily inventory items. ‘PDA” we can improvethe nature of the work to
use ERP which make scan for all truck contain the stock so it become more easy. For save
effort and time when converted the initial request to final request after calculated them
by should havethree group so firstgroup received the item while they finish second
group check if everything as required the last group finalize. Also Build new location
throw Oracle Programto restored the item “Subinventory” wecan put plan for
emergency item that do not have location so it will organza our work.

5.Learning experience
Our department use this projectfor every graduation work placement . Now I will explain
about this projectin details as I sharein this project . The supervisor writthe weekly
reportabout me for the manager, it contain my ability to handle multiple task in same
time like Utilized about the item when we do daily inventory items ‘PDA” and built new
code for materials that deal with the department to update specifications both in same
time and I handle the task as the mostimportant to know basic thing in every assignment
then you can handle any task depended to understanding for it. The advantagefromthis
projectit help the graduate to practice the theory that studying in university in labor
market so we can develop the current systemby whatwe studying even the method as
our country keeping develop every day. Also it can help me to join work in Dubai
municipality as the manger know aboutme fromthe supervisor. My recommendation to
put plan for graduate as every week have to do different assign so it help to get
knowledgeto handle variety of task and help the graduateto get new job after
graduation as the manager haveclear image about it

6.Conclusions
In conclusion, I am very satisfied by the result of my internship. I got tremendous amount
of new information that will help me take the right decision in planning my career because
this course of internship, teaches us how to apply the theoretical information that we have
learned at university, to our workplace at the internship. During my internship that I have
done, in Dubai municipality, I have learned several of policies and procedure. I would like
to thank and appreciate the employees and my field supervisor who enhance my
knowledge and my experience, and its very kind that they give me opportunity to work
with their team. I have learned how to work as team, managing time, flexibility, multi-
tasking, organize meeting and self-confidence and communication skill have been
improved. I recommend my college and the career unit, to have the internship at Dubai
municipality as they really support students and treat them, as they are one of their team
members.
