THE ENVIRONMENTAL CRISIS –
NUBMER ONE INTERNATIONAL
PROBLEM
Alexandra Shibina
Moscow
2011
What does the environmental crisis
mean?
The biosphere is the
global sum of all
ecosystems:
• the earth’s thin skin of
air, water and soil
• global network of
various habitats
Nothing is created, nothing is lost.
• Constant balanced
interaction
• No waste
• Everything is recycled
endlessly
But
• Balance has begun to
collapse
The environmental degradation.
• Ozone layer is thinning
•Pollution
We pollute our rivers, lakes
and oceans, and the sky,
forgetting that we need water
and air to live and breathe.
• Acid rain is destroying forests and lakes

• We destroy landscapes and rainforests

• We slaughter the world’s beautiful animals
The Environmentalists call for
changes NOW!
• As a result of new
technologies of land
we lose the soil
• The earth is steadily
warming with
potentially dangerous
effects
Thanks for your attention.
