Greetings!
Hi Sylvie!
I’m your cyber-friend, Paul. I’m 12 and I’m in 6th grade. I come from a big city but now I live
in a small village in the country, with my family. There are five people in my family: my parents,
my brother and my little sister. My uncle Tim and his family live on a farm near the village.
My parents work on the Redhill campsite near the village. My dad is the tour guide and
my mother is the receptionist. They like their work very much. It’s a special campsite for
students from state schools in the country. They come to the campsite to go on field trips
and adventure tours. They can put up their tents or rent small cabins. There are horses and
bicycles to ride. They love the place!
Tell me about your life!
Paul

Greetings!
Tell me about your life!

and 19th of September. They have barbecues, dance and wear
traditional costumes.
In the UK, people celebrate Pancake Day. It is in February or at
the beginning of March, six weeks before Easter. People eat
pancakes on this day. In some towns, there are pancake races.
In other countries, people celebrate carnival at this time of the
year. There are parades through the streets, fireworks and people
wear masks and costumes.
In some countries, people give presents on the 25th of December.
It is a big day, especially for children. In other countries, this
tradition takes place on the 6th of January.
