English is the most important language worldwide both for native and non-native speakers. While native English speakers are less than other languages like Spanish or Chinese, English has more second language speakers. English originated in England and has become one of the most widely spoken languages. There are many reasons to study English, including that it is essential for work, is the universal language, will allow one to access new cultures and travel without problems, and is the most widely learned second language. However, some criticize English as dominating other languages and representing the power of certain countries over others with less power. Respect for other growing languages and lost languages is also demanded.

many as those of other languages such as Spanish or Chinese,
English wins absolutely every battle when talking about people
who speak or master English as a second language.
