The Earth
Our planet Earth is only planet in the solar system where life exists.
Mother Earth gives us our basic needs of food, shelter, and clothes.
Natural resources like oxygen, water, etc, Are available on planet
Earth.
Story of the earth
The Earth has undergone constant change in its 4.54 Billion year history
with life evolving in response to those changes in particular to the
changing atmospheric compositions of carbon dioxide and oxygen. Species
extinction has been a natural part of the evolutionary process of the planet
however there are now thought to have been at least 8 mass extinction
events in the history of the Earth each of major consequence to life on the
planet and of import to our modern understandings of climate change.
From the earliest ages of the planet when microbial blooms spread
around the globe up to the radiation of Homo sapiens, life has Spread to
every viable location on the planet. Life is nothing if not resilient and great
extinctions serve to highlight this. Even if only a few isolated pockets of
singlecelled organisms survived a global extinction event an event even
more destructive than the Great Permian Extinction life would continue
on, evolving, adapting and radiating back across the world as soon as
conditions allow. Until the dying Sun consumes the Earth there will be no
end to life on the planet.
The four spheres of the Earth are: the biosphere,
hydrosphere, lithosphere and atmosphere
1. Biosphere
The biosphere is the sphere of the earth
which includes all organic, living life.
2. Hydrosphere
The hydrosphere is the water sphere of Earth. This
includes the total amount of water that can be found
on the whole planet, from that on the surface - like in
lakes, oceans, rivers etc.
3. Lithosphere
The lithosphere is the ‘earth’ or land portion of the
Earth . The lithosphere is the land on which
biological life.
It Has 3 layers Crust, Mantle and Core and it is
Divided into 2 parts Continent and Oceans
1. Crust
The crust is the thinnest layer of the Earth. It has an average thickness of
about 18 miles (30km) below land, and around 6 miles (10km) below the
oceans.
2. Mantle
The mantle is the thick layer of hot, solid rock between the Earth's crust and the
molten iron core . The
mantle starts about 30 kilometers down and is about 2900 kilometers thick.
Core
The temperature of the earth’s core is around 4000 degrees Celsius to 6,100
degrees C. The former
temperature is spotted at the outer part. The latter temperature refers to the
inner core. It is believed
that the magnetic field of Earth is affected by the presence of the current on the
nickel iron fluid.
Continents and Oceans
There are 7 continent and
5 oceans
Continents
There are 7 continents. The seven
continents are-
Oceans
Pacific Ocean - The Pacific
Ocean is the largest of the
oceans covering around one
third of the Earth's surface.
Asia - It is the largest continent in the world
both in terms of area and population.
Africa – It is the second-largest continent in
the world after Asia both by area and
population.
Atlantic Ocean - The Atlantic
Ocean is the world's second
largest ocean. It separates
Europe and Africa from North
and South America.
North America - It is the third-largest
continent on the
Indian Ocean - The Indian
Earth in terms of area and fourth-largest
in terms of
Ocean is the third largest ocean
in the world. It lies south of
population.ꢀ Asia, and India, and separates
East Africa from Australia.
South America - It is the fourth largest
continent area wise
Southern Ocean - The
and the fifth most populous in the world.
Antarctica - It is the fifth-largest
Southern Ocean is the fourth
largest, or second smallest of
the oceans. It sits at the South
Pole and the southern part of
the Earth.
continent on Earth with
no countries and permanent human
habitation.
Europe - It is the sixth-largest continent Arctic Ocean - The Arctic
Ocean is in the northern part of
the Earth, primarily around the
in the world and
the third most populous in the world.
Australia - Australia is the smallest
continent in the world
North Pole. It is the smallest and
shallowest of the world’s
oceans.
and is the flattest.
4. Atmosphere
The atmosphere of Earth, which we casually refer to as simply ‘air’, is
actually made up of a mixture of gases and vapours. The Earth’s
atmosphere forms a barrier, or bubble around the Earth, and is held there
by the force of gravity.
Layers of atmosphere
1. Troposphere
the lowest region of the
atmosphere, extending from
the earth's surface to a height
of about 6–10 km (the lower
boundary of the stratosphere).
Layers of atmosphere
2. Stratosphere
the layer of the earth's
atmosphere above the
troposphere, extending to
about 50 km above the
earth's surface (the lower
boundary of the mesosphere)
Layers of atmosphere
3. Mesosphere
the region of the earth's
atmosphere above the
stratosphere and below the
thermosphere, between about
50 and 80 km in altitude.
Layers of atmosphere
4. Thermosphere
the region of the atmosphere above
the mesosphere and below the height
at which the atmosphere ceases to
have the properties of a continuous
medium.
Layers of atmosphere
5. Exosphere
the outermost region of a
planet's atmosphere.
Steps to Save
Earth
Due to human activities like Air Pollution,
Water Pollution, industrialization, fossil fuel
and deforestation are a Source of
Environmental Destruction. Our Earth is
chocking and we need to act urgently to
prevent our planet from becoming a dead
planet. Our planet Earth should be saved for
our own survival. Here are few steps to save
our Earth
1. Saving the
Environment
2. Conserve Water.
3. Earth day is
means preserve and celebrated
conserve our
surrounding.
4. We should plant at
least
on 22nd April every
year
to aware people
about
the Environment.
1 tree and take care of
5. We should adopt
the
mantra of Reduce,
reuse and recycle
in our day to day
Life.
