The Clothesline Project exposes the silent and destructive force of domestic violence by allowing women who have survived abuse to reclaim their lives and find courage. The goal is to create personal, political, and cultural change by making clear that violence against women is unacceptable. The document also provides background on Jewish Family Service, which founded Project DVORA to support loving relationships and respond to domestic abuse in the Jewish community.
Dr Simon Duffy gave this talk in September 2018 to the National Social Care Conference in Cardiff. He argues that our concept of citizenship is confused, but the potential for creating communities of citizenship is enormous.

"Great leadership is about human experiences. It's not a formula or a program, it is a human activity that comes from the heart and considers the hearts of others. It is an attitude, not a routine."

"All of the great leaders have had one characteristic in common: It was the willingness to confront unequivocally the major anxiety of their people in their time. This, and not much else, is the essence of leadership."

I was recently issued a challenge from the Chairman of Springfield City Group. That challenge? To talk about my future and the future of cities, namely, the future of Greater Springfield.
So, with that, here are my thoughts! Essentially, any future must consider health and it's people at the centre. A sustainable and prosperous future must consider health economics, the value of digital and the power of community.
We are doing things every day that are stepping stones towards our future reality, that metaphorical bridge. I challenge you to think about this bridge and visualise your future, in no particular timeframe, but think about the feelings associated with this.
Make sure you tell me what your future holds and what you think the future of cities is in the comments below!

Care, caring, and caregiver are words used to describe those who take care of family members or friends out of love. These terms are also used by those who are paid to help and support others. This is confusing on a number of fronts.
One: there is a big difference between being paid to provide care versus not expecting and not receiving financial compensation.
Two: the policy discussions and funding decisions tend to focus on professional and paid care provided by non profits, governments or institutions as if they were the only ones. This paid sector receives the bulk of the financial resources allocated by governments. In this regard, natural care is playing teeter totter with an elephant.
That the dimensions, requirements and scale of natural care is invisible is a serious public policy issue. We have relegated it as a private matter. In fact, it defines us as a species, as a country, as a society, as an individual.
Providers of natural care need resources to support themselves and the people they are caring for. It is a matter of decency, natural justice and our collective survival. This serious matter should be a high public policy priority.

ABSTRACT: Gender issue dominates the 21st century discourse both in the developed world and in the developing countries. It is a top priority of United Nation policy and World Bank commitment to invest on any programmes that guarantee full participation of women. Gender inequality or discrimination has been blamed on the steady increase on poverty, unemployment and other related issues. It is by no means a Western concept aimed at liberating women from perceived discrimination. Gender equality is perceived as a meaningful guarantor of development. However, academic query on this important issue left some gap to be filled on the irony of gender equality. What does the concept stand for, where is it coming from, what is the motive of gender equality, does it really guarantee women freedom without subjecting them to forms of exploitation and dehumanization? This piece is critical in answering these questions and in accessing the economic development agenda behind the campaign on gender equality. In order to achieve this, Marxist position is utilized, while upholding Structural functionalist theory to maintain the status quo and with certain modification and improvement on the condition of women. However, the study indicted capitalist economic system as the major causes of gender inequality.
Gender equality and women empowerment on Sustainable Community Development in...AJHSSR Journal
ABSTRACT: Gender inequality is the most persistent and pervasive global problem of the 21st century militating against the attainment of sustainable development in patriarchal societies. Several forums have noted the centrality of gender equality and concerns of women’s empowerment to the achievement of sustainable development. Promotion of gender equality is thus an important part of any development strategy. Thus, the research focused on analysing how society perceives the concept of gender equality and women empowerment, factors that militate against the achievement of gender equality in the society and its role in sustainable development. In gathering information, the study employed in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. The findings of this paper indicate that gender equality improves people’s participation in community development programmes and leads to healthy families and increased food productivity. The paper concluded that women empowerment and gender equality are essential tools in the achievement of sustainable development in Zimbabwe.
Women’s rights are human rights. But in these troubled times, as our world becomes more unpredictable and chaotic, the rights of women and girls are being reduced, restricted and reversed.
Empowering women and girls is the only way to protect their rights and make sure they can realize their full potential.
Historic imbalances in power relations between men and women, exacerbated by growing inequalities within and between societies and countries, are leading to greater discrimination against women and girls. Around the world, tradition, cultural values and religion are being misused to curtail women’s rights, to entrench sexism and defend misogynistic practices.
Gender and Development focuses on social, economic, political and cultural forces that determine how differently men and women participate in, benefit from, and control the recourses and activities. Also focuses on the socially determined relations between men and women.
We aim to ensure that women participate in policy decisions and represent their own interests. We commit to ensuring that all arms of government take action to promote the transformation of political practice for greater transparency, accountability and be mindful of women. That by the year 2025 there is significant progress to parity between men and women on boards, institutions and in higher echelons of the bureaucracies.

The focus of this paper is on the what, why, and how of gender, sexuality, and HIV/AIDS and is limited to issues
related to the heterosexual transmission of HIV because that has been the the most common transmission HIV for
women since the emergence of the epidemic in Sub-Saharan Africa and particularly amongst poor rural women which
has been the focus of my work over the last decade. We recognize that heterosexual transmission is only one aspect of
the epidemic, but it is by no means irrelevant since the most recent statistics show that heterosexual transmission of HIV
remains by far the most common mode of transmission not only in Africa but globally Gupta (2000). We have known for
at least a decade that gender and sexuality are significant factors in the sexual transmission of HIV, and we now know
that they also influence treatment, care, and support Gupta, (2000) Hussayn (2016,2017). Both terms, nevertheless,
continue to remain misunderstood and inappropriately used.
Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.

Editor's Notes
This is a condensed version of the session I led at the AJFCA conference in May.
I’m hoping it will give you a better understanding not only of the blog but also of how it functions as the centerpiece of our content strategy.
We’re focused on expanding our base and bringing in both more and younger people, especially individuals and families in their 30’s and 40’s.
The Luncheon video has been the centerpiece of our storytelling and we wanted to find away to extend that storytelling culture throughout the year.
We want to showcase leadership and creativity in our programs.
We needed an axis for everything else to turn on - a multi-purpose story bank - that would be the engine to support the enews and social media – and be an enhancer to our more informational-based website.
