The report highlights the network's achievements over the course of 2019 with a particular focus on improving mental health awareness in the Muslim community. A key achievement over the course of the year was to have four community organisations, with a combined reach of over 10,000 people sign up to the Public Health England's Prevention Concordat. And this was a great way to show collaborative working between our health agencies and the community.
At the 2016 CCIH Annual Conference, Reverend Cesar Ahouantchede of Espoir de la Famille in Benin explains how the organization works with religious leader in Benin to increase family planning use.

What is the point of small housing associations.pptxPaul Smith
Given the small scale of housing associations and their relative high cost per home what is the point of them and how do we justify their continued existance

4. GLOBAL MUSLIM
ATTITUDES TO
MENTAL HEALTH
By 2024 Birmingham is believed
to become Britain's second
plural city, where no ethnicity
forms a majority due to a direct
increase in the cities BAME
population
By 2030, the WHO states
depression will be the leading
public health crisis and by 2050
Islam will be the largest global
religion
5. WHAT DOES THE COMMUNITY SAY?
It needs to be
more of a
conversation than
the physical or
spiritual but a
fusion of both
In the current
situation of our
country mental
health services
should increase
and its necessity is
urgent
There needs to be
ongoing anti taboo
work, Muslims have a
lack of
understanding of
mental illnesses
I think its important to
explore facets of culture
and how they can
impact mental health
and the
treatment/attitudes
towards mental health
Proper conversations
should start with our
community, as much as
there should be services for
young people there needs
to be support offered to
parents so they are well
equipped in helping their
child
Stigma and taboo within the
South Asian Muslim
community particularly
women and men manifests
itself in ignorance and needs
to be tackled with more work,
awareness and services
6. WHAT’S NEXT?
Research focused on user centred services based on trends
within the British/Global Muslim diaspora
