The report highlights the network's achievements over the course of 2019 with a particular focus on improving mental health awareness in the Muslim community. A key achievement over the course of the year was to have four community organisations, with a combined reach of over 10,000 people sign up to the Public Health England's Prevention Concordat. And this was a great way to show collaborative working between our health agencies and the community.

Established in October 2016, the Muslim Network Health Collaboration has now grown to more
than 350 members across the UK’s leading public health bodies. Our aims are to:
As part of the Collaboration’s efforts to support health promotion and community engagement,
we dedicated 2018 to facilitating national action related to mental health. Here’s a look back at
2018 and what we accomplished together.

3. The launch of our mental health campaign was supported
by Baroness Ruby McGregor-Smith, Clare Moriarty (DEFRA
Permanent Secretary, Ian Dalton (Chief Executive, NHS
Improvement) and Jonathan Jones, Head of the Government
Legal Service and Crown's Nominee.

4. Facilitated national commitments to support Public Health
England’s Prevention concordat for better mental health
with community organisations, BIMA, MCB, CUBE and
Inspirited Minds who have a combined reach of more
than 100,000 members and service users.

5. Partnership development and collaboration nationally with
more than 35 organisations including Ernst & Young,
PWC, KPMG, Deloitte, HSBC, Lloyds, the Cambridge
University Centre of Islamic Studies, Centre for Islam and
Medicine and the Muslim Chaplains Association.

6. Led a national health steering group facilitated by the
Muslim Council of Britain following the Our Mosques
Our Future January event. Key topics included illness
prevention, health inequalities, service promotion
and community asset development.

7. Developed resources and health advice jointly with
Public Health England on a range of topics including
health advice for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims
as well as mental health guidance.

8. Distributed NHS Ramadan guidance at faith
and community centres offering practical advice
and guidance on healthy fasting.

9. Provided end of life care consultancy for
the NHS Improvement teams raising awareness of
faith practice and culturally sensitive care provision.

10. Collaboration with the British Islamic Medical Association
to deliver an online webinar on mental health
and Hajj following our annual Hajj Health event.

11. Supported and welcomed the addition of
the NHS Muslim Network to the Collaboration.
