Essay about The European Renaissance
Modernism was an artistic movement that arose in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as a reaction against traditional forms of art and literature. The movement reflected broader societal transformations brought about by industrialization, urbanization, new technologies, and World Wars. Modernist artists and writers sought to depart from traditional forms they viewed as outdated in order to develop new forms that captured the modern experience. Some key influences on Modernism included theories of relativity, psychoanalysis, and Darwin's theory of evolution, which challenged long-held beliefs. Modernism had a significant impact on fields like painting, music, dance, philosophy, psychology, architecture, science, sculpture, and literature.

American literature has evolved through four periods: realism, naturalism, modernism, and postmodernism. Writers during each period displayed certain defining characteristics. Realism writers like Mark Twain and Booker T. Washington wrote about accurate representations of American life and social issues like racism. Naturalist writers such as Edith Wharton and Jack London were influenced by Darwin and wrote about environmental and hereditary determinism. Modernist writers experimented with form and perspective and addressed themes like the burden of history. Postmodern writers depicted contemporary issues and technologies and expressed confusion about social changes through works like Allen Ginsberg's poem "Howl."

Odoo has a tool called Reception Report that can be used to complete this assignment. By enabling this, a reception report comes automatically after confirming a receipt, from which we can assign products to orders.

The Coming of
the Modern
Age To the
present Day

2. A LITTLE ON THE SUBJECT
After the ending of the Victorian Age, a mix of
optimism, doubt, and guilt disappear because
of different writers that occasioned a new
perspective on the world. The literature from
1880 to 1914 is characterized by pushing away
the religion by attempting to add a new one
that was a hopeless view of the non-existing
god. One of the substitutes for religion at that
age was Art and the writer Walter Pater (1839-
94) was considered the prophet of this
movement. Parter supported hedonism as a
way in which people from that age could see
the world without the religious terms that were
implemented at that age.
3. One of the other substitutes for
religion was imperialism and it was
being advocated by Rudyard Kipling
(1865-1936). He values the empire as
the source of creating a rich and
powerful civilization.
Another side of this was the pessimistic
literature that was written by some
authors whose intentions were to give a
cruel perspective of the world from that
age.
4. Liberalism was also on top of the
perspectives that were seen
throughout that age and its main
view of the world was that the
future of mankind lies on earth and
not in heaven, or the afterlife.
A LITTLE ON
THE SUBJECT
5. PERSONAL OPINION
We as a team conclude that during the twentieth-century
people were searching for something to put their faith in.
Many perspectives were presented during that time and this
advocated a lot of confusion that resulted in a variety of
different philosophies created by different writers of English
literature. The social discussion that occurred during that time
were mainly occasioned because of the different beliefs that
communities had back then.
DAVID
6. PERSONAL OPINION
In this chapter we could observe how it is in human nature to
believe in something, so when religion seemed dead, when
there was confusion and spiritual belief became scarce,
literature became a substitute for religion.
Many English writers captured in their works different
situations that were experienced at that time, from the status
of women and men to philosophy in politics, as well as the
different religions. This would cause a change which would
be reflected in poetry and art, and would also cause
discussions in society because of the different perspectives.
MARÍA
7. PERSONAL OPINION
In this chapter, you can notice and understand very well how
the human mind seeks and has the need to believe in
something in order to feel fulfilled with it. You can also see
how thanks to the different types of religions art and poetry
began to change and to have different branches creating a
little chaos but at the same time something very beautiful
now that we see it from a more distant and more modern
point of view. You can also see how people began to question
themselves a little bit about what they could ask from life.
