Jane Goodall was born in 1934 and studied chimpanzees in parts of the world where chimp populations were declining or becoming extinct. She was fascinated by chimps from a young age and enjoyed observing and caring for them. Goodall spent many years devoted to studying chimpanzee behavior and is now famous for her pioneering research and conservation efforts to protect chimpanzees.
