2. Benefits of Using OER Resources
• OER in general provides one with a sense of community.
• The cost savings on textbooks makes education affordable to many.
• Opens the door to sharing ideas around the country and around the
world.
• OER Resources can be used as a recruitment tool to attract individuals
to different disciplines.
• OER increases diversity in the content and pedagogy, allowing more
creativity in the classroom.

3. The Challenges of Using OER Resources
• Can the OER movement be sustained over the long hall.
• How do we address sustaining the quality of OER Resources.
• As the OER movement evolves how will the different components of
OER interact and change? Will we be able to negotiate the challenges
these changes will inititate.
• There will always be some who are not prepared technically for using
this type of resource.
• Accessibility issues.
