At ING Bank, machine learning models are a key factor in making relevant engagements with our customers, empowering them to stay a step ahead in life and in business. In our efforts to make the model building process more rapid, compliant, validated and accessible to roles other than data scientists (such as data analysts or customer journey experts), we have structured it for an easy creation of propensity models.
In this talk, I will present this structure, focusing on pipelining data science models in Apache Spark. In particular, I will show how we use Apache Sqoop & Ranger to comply with GDPR, build a data science workflow on top of python and Jupyter, extend the SparkML libraries on PySpark to create custom standardizers and cross-validators, and show an in-house developed monitoring tool built on top of Elasticsearch for model evaluation.
Finally, I will describe the type of engagement analysts and customer journey experts have with the result set of the models created, and how we refine our dashboards (in IBM Cognos) accordingly.

WSO2Con USA 2017: Building Enterprise Grade IoT Architectures for Digital Tra...WSO2
IoT and mobile computing are at the heart of many organizations’ digital transformation initiatives. Together, these technologies are enabling enterprises to innovate new business models and solutions that enhance customer and partner interactions, optimize supply chain logistics, and improve operational efficiency. Implementing a scalable and extensible IoT architecture is key for this transformation.
WSO2 IoT Server offers an extensible framework for device manufacturers to write plugins for various types of devices they wish to integrate with. Data gathered from devices can be processed with batch and real-time analytics and this data can even be fed into a prediction engine. Devices can be exposed as managed APIs for integration. On top these, it offers a complete enterprise mobility management (EMM/MDM/MAM) solution for enterprises looking to manage employees’ mobile devices.
This talk will give you an introduction to the key capabilities of WSO2 IoT Server and discusses how it can be extended to build a scalable IoT architecture.

Enterprises are now seriously considering cloud as a viable architectural style . However, without a disciplined process and techniques for evolution, governance, change management and measurement, it will be disastrous to adopt cloud in a random fashion . TOGAF Architecture Development Method (ADM) can provide the approach for adopting cloud in an orderly way.

Editor's Notes
Cloud, social media and other Web 2.0 technologies have revolutionized the way people behave personally and professionally. Data demand is now instantaneous and no respecter of location: consumer and corporate customers want products and services delivered straight to their smart devices wherever they are.
People are using their own superior tablet, smartphone and device technology at work, which in turn is increasing a demand for a more collaborative way of working.
Businesses have to respond to this change in user behavior by rethinking the way they do business. Many are actively engaged in identifying new opportunities that the move to mobility offers.
