Devops is a cultural movement gathering developers and IT Pros responsible for operating applications around common values, goals, practices and tools in order to accelerate development and deployment cycles, creating fast feedback loops between development and operations. Like agility 15 years ago, Devops adoption, accelerated by Cloud platforms adoption, involves organizational, cultural, as well as tehcnical aspects. Emerging movement a few years ago, now well established at consumer web and mobile companies, Devops starts to get in the Enterprise.
This presentation will explain the cultural and organizational aspects of the Devops movement, then will give an overview of the most common tools that are used to implement a Devops approach, showing that Microsoft is one of the few providers proposing a complete and integrated toolset, that works seamlessly for .NET developers, while integrating the most popular third party open source and proprietary tools, making Azure a great platform to implement a Devops approach for Linux, Java and open source workloads. We will talk about Visual Studio Online, Windows Azure, System Center, Windows Server, Azure Pack, PowerShell, NewRelic, Chef & Puppet integrations, Jenkins, …

WSO2Con EU 2016: Integrate APIM to Third-party Tools: Creating an Agent for ELKWSO2
Thousands of organizations worldwide already use the ELK stack – or one of its challengers – in order to get real-time insights from their IT assets. When considering WSO2 API Manager, despite its obvious advantages, they can be seemingly unwilling to adopt a new and different statistics oriented product; in other words, WSO2 Data Analytics Server, is not always the option to start with if you have plain statistics needs or if you have invested a lot into some other product. This session explains how to leverage the extensible nature of WSO2 API Manager to collect and analyze API statistics using a third party tool. It gives details on how to write a new data publishing agent, create your own template and configure WSO2 API Manager in order to publish API runtime statistics towards ELK. This talk describes the architecture and the implementation project and gives “how to” guidelines that could be reused to integrate with other products like Splunk or Graylog.

Designing for Privacy in Amazon Web ServicesKrzysztofKkol1
Data privacy is one of the most critical issues that businesses face. This presentation shares insights on the principles and best practices for ensuring the resilience and security of your workload.
Drawing on a real-life project from the HR industry, the various challenges will be demonstrated: data protection, self-healing, business continuity, security, and transparency of data processing. This systematized approach allowed to create a secure AWS cloud infrastructure that not only met strict compliance rules but also exceeded the client's expectations.
Understanding Globus Data Transfers with NetSageGlobus
NetSage is an open privacy-aware network measurement, analysis, and visualization service designed to help end-users visualize and reason about large data transfers. NetSage traditionally has used a combination of passive measurements, including SNMP and flow data, as well as active measurements, mainly perfSONAR, to provide longitudinal network performance data visualization. It has been deployed by dozens of networks world wide, and is supported domestically by the Engagement and Performance Operations Center (EPOC), NSF #2328479. We have recently expanded the NetSage data sources to include logs for Globus data transfers, following the same privacy-preserving approach as for Flow data. Using the logs for the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) as an example, this talk will walk through several different example use cases that NetSage can answer, including: Who is using Globus to share data with my institution, and what kind of performance are they able to achieve? How many transfers has Globus supported for us? Which sites are we sharing the most data with, and how is that changing over time? How is my site using Globus to move data internally, and what kind of performance do we see for those transfers? What percentage of data transfers at my institution used Globus, and how did the overall data transfer performance compare to the Globus users?

Why React Native as a Strategic Advantage for Startup Innovation.pdfayushiqss
Do you know that React Native is being increasingly adopted by startups as well as big companies in the mobile app development industry? Big names like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest have already integrated this robust open-source framework.
In fact, according to a report by Statista, the number of React Native developers has been steadily increasing over the years, reaching an estimated 1.9 million by the end of 2024. This means that the demand for this framework in the job market has been growing making it a valuable skill.
But what makes React Native so popular for mobile application development? It offers excellent cross-platform capabilities among other benefits. This way, with React Native, developers can write code once and run it on both iOS and Android devices thus saving time and resources leading to shorter development cycles hence faster time-to-market for your app.
Let’s take the example of a startup, which wanted to release their app on both iOS and Android at once. Through the use of React Native they managed to create an app and bring it into the market within a very short period. This helped them gain an advantage over their competitors because they had access to a large user base who were able to generate revenue quickly for them.
Listen to the keynote address and hear about the latest developments from Rachana Ananthakrishnan and Ian Foster who review the updates to the Globus Platform and Service, and the relevance of Globus to the scientific community as an automation platform to accelerate scientific discovery.

What’s the reason we hold workshops and conferences?
This probably sums up 95% or more of the ways we currently work together
All of us will face these questions every day, whether we’re conscious of it or not. Each of these questions is worthy of a lengthy discussion, but there’s a better approach…
Main point: 60k customers from every industry, reinforcing “every company is a software company.” Marquee customers in every industry.
That's summarizing really quickly what we do for different types of teams. Atlassian is a company that supports companies that are trying to work together and innovate in all industries, in all shapes and sizes, companies that are small as five people up to companies that have tens of thousands of employees around the world.
We eat our own dogfood – we make our software for us, so we’re our own customers.More frequent releases need devops practices – we’ll get there someday soon.
Test: How do you define if your build succeeds? Can you tell where and when your build fails most often?
Infrastructure as Code: virtualize everythingTime to get first step of simulation working (with software install, etc) 2-3 months
Take one step forward, two steps backwards. Difficult to share problems I faced – how to reproduce, how to share logfiles, how to share changes etcTime to go from first step of simulation to complete automation: less than a week (emphasize this)
Products: ideas, software we create, results of our research, ways we solved problems we encountered
Not trying to sell any specific product – instead sell the ideas, process, and culture behind DevOps. Explain how these tools support this.
Main point: Our products have unique capabilities helping teams
Our products support a unique set of capabilities for teams. JIRA Software helps software teams better organize tasks and projects. Confluence is a place where teams can create and share content. HipChat focuses on real‑time messaging and communication.
JIRA Service Desk focuses on simplifying the requests and response and the workflow around requesting service from another part of the organization and then managing and fulfilling that service. Bitbucket is a place where developers can manage and discuss code.
Those are the unique collaborative capabilities of each of our product support teams. They unify a bunch of things for teams around people commenting, notifications, sharing, and @ mentioning, sort of the aspects of collaboration that really unite people around an object, whether it's a task, a page, or a message. That's what all of our products have in common.
Main point: Atlassian helps software teams plan, track, build & ship software faster and smarter
Our portfolio provides everything that a modern software team would need in order to design, build, and deliver great software fast.
From the very beginning we help teams with ideation and concepting. We help teams basically plan and track discreet work that's required for a software project. We help software developers share and collaborate around code and the actual building of the product so they can deliver it in time.
We help peripheral parts of the software team collaborate around documentation, around specification, around requirements. We also help automate the deployment of software, so we improve the quality and the continuous integration of software as it's being built and delivered out to customers.
Main point: Confluence gives you a place to create, organize and discuss with your team
Main point: Introducing JIRA Software
JIRA Software is the #1 tool for agile software development teams.
Main point: Different stakeholder work on the same platform to manage software projects
Product manager get an overview when a specific version will be ready and what needs to be done.
Dev managers get insights what developers are working on and manage the scope of a projects.
Developers can see what other team members are currently working on and track the work in progress.
Main point: Atlassian Marketplace has 2,000 add-ons to extend our products
Every team is different and sometimes requires a special integration or functionality. Is the one stop shop for add-ons on the Atlassian platform.
