This document discusses the importance of relationships, content, and curiosity in teaching. It provides examples of the author's experience teaching at Baker Middle School from 1987-1990 and discusses moving direct instruction from group to individual spaces through flipped learning. Flipped learning is said to allow for stronger relationships to develop between teachers and students.

55. Thanks for your prayers. I thought I would share
with you that my students have been showing
empathy and concern for me during this time. I do
not remember this occurring when I have
experienced a loss before when I was lecturing. I
am not sure of the reason why students are
expressing their concern for my wife and me but I
wonder if it is because of the relationships that
have developed because of me using flipped learning
since I get to work with students one on one.
