Japie and Sandra Oosthuizen are the proud owners of Eagle’s Nest and Onverwacht Flora Accommodation. Located halfway between the twin villages McGregor and Greyton in the Western Cape, South Africa. A 2h Drive from Cape Town via Worcester, Robertson and then through McGregor brings you to what is often called “The Road to Nowhere”!
This nature lover’s paradises lies up in the heart of the Riviersonderend Mountains and are also surrounded with mountain peaks of the Langeberge and Galgeberg.
Both places are linked to the famous Boesmanskloof Hiking Trail (permit is needed) also known as the McGregor-Greyton Trail. This popular Trail is a 16 km Trail of +- 6h between Greyton and McGregor.
Eagle’s Nest and Onverwacht Flora are an ideal getaway for naturelovers, week-enders, hikers, and mountainbiking or only to listen to the uproariously singing of the sugarbirds or the rumbling of the river rock pools.
The lights of the nearby villages of the R62 (the world’s longest wine route) and the Overberg are a picturque view day and night.
Both accommodation places overlook the Gobos River with many refreshing rock pools to choose from for having lots of fun!
Eagle’s Nest Guesthouse and Onverwacht Flora are less than 2km apart from each other. Make time to hike between the two accommodation places by following the direction starting from the Gobos River or the nearby marked foot-path.
Take your time to experience the unique floral wealth on our property. Seeing that we specialize in a variety of Fynbos.
The mysterious The Galg Road is also (historical road) a piece of history to discover when you visit us.
Every viewpoint is a destination on its own. God created them and we offer a variety of views to you! The sunset in the west and the sunrise in the east will never be the same to you!
Choose a destination and follow the foot-paths to connect with the universe and spend some time there. Just maybe it’s your lucky day and your eye catches a few bucks!
Let the peace and the silence soak into your soul on both places. The real world is far, far away in these God-given places!
Attending a wedding may be a privilege, but sometimes it's not always a pleasure. The last thing a bride and groom want is for their wedding guests to spend the reception checking their watches.

THE STYLEMATE - Secret Places, The LIFESTYLEHOTELS Magazine Issue 02|2017THE Stylemate
Secret secrets
We have a deep yearning for secrets. Anyone who looks for “insider tips” on tourism websites will find them in their thousands. But – these secrets can’t be so secret if everyone can see them.
So our secret tip is this – ask your hotelier what sort of secrets can be discovered around your holiday resort. With a bit of luck, they’ll give you insider knowledge that you can’t find on websites and in travel guides.
Thomas Holzleithner & Hardy Egger
Editors
Combining the traditional spices of glogg with Spanish sparkling wine, Glöet® is an exiting and more fun alternative for Christmas parties and as a seasonal aperitif.
THE Stylemate - what is of value to us? issue 03|2020THE Stylemate
The year 2020 is drawing to a close and
most people probably have the same thing
on their minds – mostly, wishing for the
arrival of the New Year. We hope we’ll be able
to overcome Covid-19, and that this period
of worry and uncertainty that far exceeds
normal levels will soon be a thing of the past.
We’re dreaming of once more being able to
move around freely, to travel and to meet
new people. To discover new places and to
feel unlimited well-being when we get there.
In this issue, we have reflected on what is
important to us, when something has value
and what notions of value there are. Our
cover shows an image by Austrian artist
Martin Grandits, who deals with this topic
in a humorous way in his works. And that
takes us onto the second theme of this
issue: Austria. So often (and so readily) we
have looked beyond the horizon in previous
issues of THE Stylemate and explored
the whole wide world. But this time, we
contemplate what’s closer to home, and
we do it with great passion and no small
amount of pride. We’ve had many great
conversations with interesting people, and
attempted to debate the value of things.
We talked with innovation consultant Mario
Pricken about the value of objects and the
change in our value compass caused by
Covid-19, with Viennese wine merchants
about “cellar secrets” and the emotions they
can evoke, and with Graz-based designer
Lukas Klingsbichel about the value of the
function and mindful use of materials.
For all of them, the most important things
are those that they do often, and the sense
of value they find in their occupations.
And that reveals a lot about the true value
of things.

11. The Alpina Gstaad
Private Art Collection
Aiming to go beyond the expected, The Alpina Gstaad combines
passion and an innovative vision to offer a unique platform for art,
beauty and freedom of expression.
Beauty is first and foremost related to the senses. All art, whether
in the form of paintings, film or music, is part of a continuous
search for the meaning of life. Lascaux’s paintings, Constable’s
landscapes, Tchaikovsky’s waltzes, Keats’s poems and Oscar
Wilde’s writings all strive to define life’s purpose, a process which
occurs through experiencing art.
Art should always have an emotional effect, whether negative or
positive, on those experiencing it. The Van Gogh 3D reproduced
works previously on display at The Alpina Gstaad, an initiative by
Van Gogh’s Museum in Amsterdam, are a good example of this.
There is no right or wrong in art, only opinions. It allows humans to
express their deepest emotions and thoughts without barriers or
judgement.
In modern day society, we are constantly bombarded with
information. With such fast-paced lifestyles, humans are slowly
losing contact with nature and with their inner-self. Art provides a
chance to reconnect, all the while giving us a chance to understand
and accept change.
“Love” each other no matter what…
What makes life special and not boring is “the existing difference”.
