2. 1. The first Marquess of Milford Haven
Marquess of Milford Haven is a title of the British nobility,
created at 1917 to Luis Battenberg, ex First Lord of the sea
and related to British nobility.
Nowadays, George Mountbatten has got the title of 4th
Marquess of Milford Haven since 1970 when his father,
David Mountbatten, 3th Marquess of Milford Haven died.
George Mountbatten heads the noble Mountbatten’s
House today.
3. 2. George Mountbatten, the 4th Marquess of Milford Haven
George Mountbatten was born the 6th June 1961. He is
the oldest son of the 3rd Marquess of Milford Haven and
Janet Mercedes Bryce, and direct descendant of
Catherine the Great and Alexander Pushkin.
In 1970, he became the 4th Marquess of Milford Haven
and Head of the House of Mountbatten.
On the other hand, he is a great businessman and he has
got a successful entrepreneurial career. In 2000, he
founded his owned company, uSwitch.
4. 3. uSwitch
In 2000, George Mountbatten, the 4th Marquess of
Milford Haven founded uSwitch, a website that helps
consumers compare and change providers of various
services, including energy services.
uSwitch makes money by helping its customers to save
money.
In March 2006, the Company was sold to a US firm for
around £210 million ($400 million).
