The wealth and diversity of the Greek seas, the endless kilometers of
the Greek coast, the thousands of Greek islands, the protected sea
areas covering thousands of square kilometers, the mild climate, the
high percentage of sunshine and its interesting and varying
landscape make Greece the ideal destination for the development of
sea tourism activities.
The best tourist destinations are:
Greece is a place of stunning natural beauty. But most of all, it hosts some of the most beautiful
beaches of the world. Let’s see only few of them…
Myrtos Beach in Kefalonia:
Myrtos is not just one
of the most exotic
beaches in Greece,
but also one of the
most beautiful ones
in the world.
 Mpalos Beach in Crete:
Only pictures can illustrate
the beauty of this place.
Voutoumi Beach in Antipaxoi:
Turqoise blue waters ,thin white sand an
evergreen hills that reach all the way to the
sea .
Sarakinko Beach in Milos:
This outstanding beach with the
white rocks looks like a scene
from the Moon! Stone arches,
underwater caves, white sand,
narrow trails and crystal, blue
waters.
Porto Katsiki in Lefkada:
One of the most stunning and wild
beaches of the world.
Simos Beach in Elafonisos:
Pori Beach in Ano Koufonisi:
Probably the most popular beach of the
Small Cyclades. Wild scenery, barren
mountains, azure waters and white
sand, as far as the eye can see. You will
think you can drink the water!
 Sarti Beach in Kefalonia:
Sarti is a very long, unspoiled sandy beach, with
amazing crystal clear, emerald waters and pines
that reach all the way to the sea.
 Prasonisi Beach in Rodos:
 Navagio Beach in
Zakynthos:
During the summer months, the
sea unveils two exceptional long
sandy beaches in the
southernmost point of Rhodes.
One has high waves and the
other is calm. It’s considered as
the surfers’ paradise.
This is one of the mostly
photographed beaches in Greece.
Mainly because of the shipwreck that
decorates this impressive white
pebbled bay that can only be accessed
by small boats. The waters are
turquoise blue and very-very deep!
Visiting Magnesia prefecture you will find many touristic resorts
of all categories, for unforgettable holidays, among the natural
beauties of Mount Pelion. Wonderful traditional villages with
special architecture sites, and beautiful beaches are included as
well.
 Mylopotapos near Tsagarada ( Aegean Sea,
Pelion ).
Some of well-known beaches in Magnesia:
Aghii Saranta Beach (Aegean Sea, Pelion)
Horefto Beach (Aegean Sea, Pelion)
Water sports are very popular in Greece, a country of seas with emerald waters and wonderful
sun beds. Greece offers the sea sports lovers a great deal, since it is endowed with awesome
natural attractions in Aegean and Ionian Sea; in addition our country boasts the fully
equipped supplies with high quality services on the islands and around the mainland. The
3,000 island Greek archipelago is an ideal place to explore, an opportunity to discover
unspoiled beaches and more than 20,000 km of coastline to admire.
RELAXING AT BEACH
 In Greek seas also leave a great host of marine animals, making our seas worthy of all
tourists attention.
 Greek turtles caretta-caretta
 Greek seals monahus-monahus
They live only at Allonissos
 Greek dolphins
The majority of our country
is mountainous. Mountains
small and large cover 80% of
its territory. If we look at
the map geomorphologic
feature most characteristic
of our country, we see that
the mountains forming the
greek letter Γ, where the
horizontal line plotted from
the Rhodope Mountains
and the vertical from the
mountains of Pindos.
THE GOD’S MOUNTAIN
Weather, climate and tourism are interconnected in diverse ways. The climate of Greece is Mediterranean
with summers that are usually hot and dry, and the winters that can be quiet cold and wet. The upper part
of Greece can be very cold during the winter and snow is not uncommon. However, for the south of Greece
and the islands, the winters will be milder. During the winter much of Greece may have snow, and much
snowfall can be expected in the higher mountains of Greece.
Summers in Greece are usually very hot, and in July and August temperatures usually reach 30 to 35°C, but
sometimes even 40°C and more. It is recommended in these temperatures to stay out of the sun from 11.00
to 14.00 when the sun it at its strongest. There is a strong northern wind called the "Meltemi" which usually
sweeps through the east coast of Greece during July and August, and this offers a welcome relief to the
heat.
 However, at sunny days tourists have the opportunity to do a lot of air activities. The human desire to fly
and be freed from earthly bonds of uniquely reflected in adventurous sports wind. Like the mythical Icarus,
ardent devotees of sports enthusiasts taste some of the unique freedom they offer, combined with peace of
mind and absolute concentration. It is an adventurous, authentic, and fairly romantic way to meet someone
from above the natural beauties of Greece, travelling with guide wind waves.
Greece has the ideal climate for flights with gliding, hang gliding and paragliding, as well as dry climate is a
region or a country, so best suited for the development of these sports, based on the exploitation of upward
currents of air, which make the glider, the Eagle or paragliding to fly for a long time.
Wind power is the conversion
of wind energy into a useful form of energy,
such as using wind turbines to
make electrical power, windmills for
mechanical power, wind pumps for water
pumping or drainage, or sails to
propel ships.
A Windmill is a machine that
converts the energy of wind into rotational
energy by means of vanes called sails or blades.
The reason for the name "windmill" is that the
devices originally were developed for milling
grain for food production; the name stuck
when in the course of history, windmill
machinery was adapted to supply power for
many industrial and agricultural needs other
than milling.
FIRE
Fire has been an important part of
all cultures and religions from pre-history to
modern day and was vital to the development of
civilization. It has been regarded in many different
contexts throughout history, but especially as a
metaphysical constant of the world.
Everyone who finds himself in Easter on Santorini should go and see the night
of the Epitaph at village Pyrgos where a spectacle of fires is an unforgettable
experience....
The June 24 is one of the greatest summer
celebrations of Greek tradition, after the feast of St.
John the Klidona ( oregano , or Rizikaris )
accompanied by the traditional custom of passing
over the fires
On the eve of the feast of St. John John, revives the
familiar custom of the fires : The square of the
village in a big fire over which jump all the villagers .
According to tradition , the fire , bring catharsis and
people exempt from evil
S
According to custom, the eve of St. John , the unmarried girls
gather in one of the houses of the village and one of them goes to the
well to bring the ' silent water ' and the path to the house should not
talk to anyone .
In home water enters a clay pot , in which each girl throws a staff
of object , called Rizikaris and then cover it with the container red
cloth and tie while praying in St. John and place the container in an
open space , where stays overnight . That same night said that girls
will see into their dreams their future spouse .
