Contrary to popular belief, it’s not impossible to achieve financial success & live a financially independent life.
If you really want to conquer the odds and become financially independent like them, here are the 4 Ds you should develop as a part of your personality & characteristic.
How Generation Z Differs from Millennials (and Some Similarities)Ryan Jenkins
The verdict is still out on where the Millennial generation ends and Generation Z begins. Some studies start Generation Z as early as 1993 and others as late as 2000. But no matter how you slice it, there are clear differences in behavior and preferences between Generation Z and the Millennials. These differences are sure to prompt additional adjustment when in comes to leadership, recruiting, parenting, and marketing.
In many ways, Generation Z is the extreme version and the opposite of Millennials. Some of these noticeable extremes and differences could help hiring managers, marketers, leaders, and parents better connect with the emerging generation and thrive tomorrow.
Presented by Ryan Jenkins, Millennial & Generation Z keynote speaker and author.

This presentation, created by Syed Faiz ul Hassan, explores the profound influence of media on public perception and behavior. It delves into the evolution of media from oral traditions to modern digital and social media platforms. Key topics include the role of media in information propagation, socialization, crisis awareness, globalization, and education. The presentation also examines media influence through agenda setting, propaganda, and manipulative techniques used by advertisers and marketers. Furthermore, it highlights the impact of surveillance enabled by media technologies on personal behavior and preferences. 4 Ds on the Internet
• If you google 4 Ds, your computer comes up with 700,000,000 entries
• For example: from the business world: delete tasks – diminish tasks –
delegate tasks – delay tasks not quite helpful, when you work within the
Rotary network
• So what about from the world of psychopathology: Distressed – Disturbed
Disruptive – Dangerous again not quite helpful
• So what about: Define it – Design it – Do it – Deliver it
• But then you might hit on this link to You Tube:
• „Rotary – The 4 Ds“ (A guide from former exchange student)
• This short video clip of an ex-Rotary exchangee makes fun of the 4
Rotary Ds and ends with the so-called „moral“: Do it – Do it again
– Don´t get caught – Deny everything
• Let us take a closer look at our four Ds

4 Ds - still a signpost (Pearl S. Buck) ?
Situation today:
The 4 Ds no longer reach the youngsters of today as something they accept as
set expectations nor does it inspire them.
For many it seems to be a challenge: How many Ds can I ignore without being
caught or without serious consequences ( cf. social networks)
4 Ds after 30 … 40 years outdated??
Especially D1: no drinking: the rule most broken, which regularly leads to
uncomfortable situations for all involved
D2: no dating: is „dating“ today still the same as 30 years ago? Do we
all understand the same thing when we talk about dating??
9. Preconvention Sao Paulo 2015
Are the 4 Ds dead?
My answer would be: Yes and No
Yes, because we no longer reach our young people with a blank
NO this
NO and this
NO this as well
NO and of course also in this case… to be ctd with Nos number 5,6, 7,…
But I also vote „No – the 4Ds are NOT dead“, because we need the
signposts. So the 4 Ds should live on, but in a totally different way. We
should still have a clear guideline of what we expect, but there should
not be any „ You must not do this or that“
A modern approach has to reach out to the young people involved and
get them on board.

Thoughts of a former Rotex Exchangee
• How can we succeed in improving the quality of our outbounds?
• Every district worldwide seems to interpret the 4Ds slightly different
• Instead of fixed rules with 4 or 5 or 6 Ds: development of different
understanding of one´s role as ambassador of one´s culture
• New understanding of one´s own role as a student of host country´s culture
• To understand one´s own position much better can be reached by improved
briefing and after the exchange year with proper de-briefing
• I accept that it is difficult for 16 – 18 year-old youngsters to see their own
place in the world, but I think we should help them understand their own
privileged situation and even more important, to understand the cultural,
political or economical situation of their host country.
• I love the Canadian 6 Bs, they are excellent, but the beliefs should be
relevant also after the exchange year.
• In our world wide organization, I would love to see a code of honour as a
guide line instead of strict rules for all involved like for example the one by
the International Rugby Board with demands for Solidarity, Passion,
Integrity, Respect & Discipline.

Code of Honour of Rotary Exchange Students
My Sponsor Rotary Club has chosen me to represent my
family, my Rotary Club, District and my home country in my
host country, host family and Host Club.
The world wide Rotary family has accepted and invited me to
take part in the exchange program, which offers the younger
generation a chance to win another understanding of other
cultures and to gain a new view of the world.
I see myself as an ambassador of my country and culture.
I respect differences in family life, school life, in traditional
values.
I will avoid any kind of behaviour that is not acceptable in my
host country.
Instead I try to be attentive, active, grateful … cf. 6 Bs

good.
That is, it´s born sensitive and feeling, eager to
be approved and to approve, hungry for simple
happiness and the chance to live“
