Maria was the first in her family to graduate high school and received $100 from a WCC counselor to buy her textbook, which allowed her to complete her first class. She went on to earn her Associate's degree in two years and will soon earn her Bachelor's, having studied abroad in Europe. The WCC Foundation provides grants to a counselor-funded student assistance program that has helped many students like Maria with contributions as small as $100.
