MDM Engineering contracted AGE Technologies to supply all requirements for the expansion of the Tharisa Mine, the largest known chrome deposit in the world. AGE's scope included supplying PLC hardware and SCADA software, manufacturing control panels, installing an ethernet and profibus fiber network, and commissioning engineers to assist with testing and commissioning. The fiber network installation involved over 18km of outdoor cable. The total value of the project was 5.9 million over its 8 month duration.
