2. In 1620, the immigrants from
England wanted to go to a new
land.
3. After 66 days on the boat, the
immigrants found land. It already had
indigenous people living there. In time,
this place would be called the United
States of America (USA).
4. When the immigrants arrived, it was
difficult for them to live. The indigenous
people helped them adapt and grow food.
5. One year later, after the fruits and
vegetables grew, the immigrants
harvested them. They decided to have
a giant feast to celebrate their first
harvest.
7. The immigrants were thankful for the good
things they had. They were thankful that
the indigenous people helped them. This
was the first Thanksgiving in America.
8. Every year, on the fourth (4th) Thursday
of November, United Statesens celebrate
Thanksgiving with a large Thanksgiving
feast with family.
9. A traditional Thanksgiving dinner
includes turkey, mashed potatoes and
gravy, cranberry sauce, green beans,
stuffing, apple pie, and pumpkin pie.
