accompanying high humidity levels. Thailand’s climate is controlled by tropical
monsoons and can be divided into 3 distinct seasons: the hot season, cool season and
rainy season.
During the cool season the weather in central and northern regions is cool and dry
between November and February.
The hot season tends to last from March to May which higher temperatures and
frequent rain. Inland areas, such as Bangkok and Ayutthaya experience the highest
levels of humidity. This is traditionally deemed the least popular period for travellers to
visit.
Rainfall is unsurprisingly at its heaviest during the rainy season from May to
November. It’s more likely to be heavy, flash flood downpours than a constant drizzle
during this season.
