Transportation in Thailand
•Bus Service:
•The advanced bus service is one of the major concerns regarding transportation in Thailand. So far as long distance travel is concerned, buses are the major modes of transport. The VIP long distance buses are luxurious and tall, where as, the tourist buses are mostly colorful and bright looking..
•Taxi Service: Taxis are available for hire at the authorized Public Taxi Stand next to the Meeting Point south of the Arrival Hall in the International Passenger Terminal. Taxi drivers are only permitted to pick up passengers at these authorized stands and they are not allowed to offer their services to passengers in the terminal building.
•BTS sky train:
• The sky train BTS and the subway MRT. This is one of my favorite modes of travel. It's cheap, quick, air conditioned, clean and goes most of the places you need to be or nearby.
Tourist Attractions
Thailand is a place where the past meets the present and creates an ambience that is both charming in its Oriental appeal and exciting in its permissiveness. No matter where you travel in Thailand, you are bound to run into ancient palaces, shrines and Buddhist temples.
Bangkok
Bangkok is as intoxicating as it is diverse; a melting pot of exotic aromas, interesting sights and visual delights. Chatuchak Market
This is a HUGE weekend market that consists of a maze of over 15,000 stalls, including live animals, meat, fish, snacks, handmade paper, Thai handcrafts, music, art, clothing, prepared food, flowers, plants and more. If you get there early, it’s not as packed and not as hot, but some of the vendors are not open yet.
Bangkok shrines
phuket
Phuket's great advantage is that there's always something to do on and off the island whether it's raining or shining. From the sublime to the seemingly profane, the range of activities and places to visit is remarkable for a destination of this size. Here are our Top Ten 'Must See' choices, built on popular vote. If you only get through half of these destinations you'll have had an unforgettable holiday. Go for it.
Ko Phi Phi
Ko Phi Phi is a small archipelago in the Krabi Province in Southern Thailand. Ko Phi Phi Don is the largest island of the group, and is the only island with permanent inhabitants while the smaller Ko Phi Phi Leh is very popular as a beach or dive excursion. Tourism on Ko Phi Phi has exploded only very recently, especially after Ko Phi Phi Leh was used as a location for the 2000 movie The Beach.
Similan Islands
The Similan Islands in the western Andaman Sea are considered the best dive destination in Thailand. The archipelago consist of 9 islands covered in tropical jungle with white sandy beaches. The views under the water surface are even more impressive. There are 2 different kind of dive spots around the Similan Islands.
Phang Nga Bay
Located just over 95 km (60 miles) from the island of Phuket, Phang Nga Bay is one of the top attractions in Thailand and one of most scenic areas in the country. It consists of beautiful caves, aquatic grottoes and limestone islands.
Phuket fantasea
It's wacky but fun and very professionally done. Trapeze artists, elephants on stage and pyrotechnics combine in a Las Vegas-style show. You'll see nothing else like it anywhere on the planet.
Koh samui
As the third largest island which is nestled in the Gulf of Thailand, Ko Samui is one of the top tourist destinations in Asia and it is also a leading holiday destination of the world today. The island is known for its beautiful landscapes, pristine beaches, shrines and historical landmarks. Koh Tao, literally Turtle Island, is a small island located near the eastern shore of the Gulf of Thailand. Around 7000 new divers get certified on Koh Tao each year making it one of the most popular destinations in the world to learn to dive.
Snake farm
Some of the most famous scary and poisonous snakes in Asia are goaded into action by experienced snake wranglers, who dodge and weave, duck and dive, as the snakes try to grab their attention. A must-see for almost anyone visiting the island.
Angthong national marine park
Angthong National Marine Park is a pristine archipelago of 42 islands in the Gulf of Thailand with towering limestone mountains, thick jungle, white-sand beaches, fertile mangroves, waterfalls and hidden coves and lakes to explore.
krabi
Krabi - in southern Thailand is one of the most relaxing places on the planet. The province features stunning scenery, fantastic white-sand beaches, a coastline with over 200 islands as well as a jungle-covered interior revealing towering limestone cliffs, caves, waterfalls and exotic wildlife.
