This clinical study compared the effects of sesame and a control treatment on knee osteoarthritis symptoms. 50 volunteers with osteoarthritis were randomly assigned to either consume 40g of sesame powder daily or take acetaminophen and glucosamine (the control). Assessments before and after the trial found that the sesame group had decreased pain intensity, improved mobility, and scored better on osteoarthritis symptom tests compared to the control group. The study concluded that consuming sesame seeds can decrease knee joint inflammation and improve mobility for people with osteoarthritis.
