Tesco is nearing completion of consolidating its 35 global data centers into a single UK-based center to more efficiently manage data from its expanding international operations. The consolidation is part of Tesco's effort to simplify and centralize its management of increasingly large and complex volumes of global data. Research from Gartner predicts that over the next five years, many companies will similarly need to modernize their data center strategies and infrastructure to adapt to growing data needs driven by new technologies and mobile use.
