Making Sense of Africa's Infrastructure Endowment: A Benchmark Approach
This paper aims to benchmark and explain Africa's infrastructure endowment by comparing infrastructure stocks across 155 developing countries from 1960 to 2005. Regression models are used to control for economic, demographic, geographic, and historic factors. Results show Africa lags behind other regions in most infrastructure, especially power, though it performs relatively well in ICT. Africa's infrastructure is significantly lower than predicted even after controlling for income, suggesting environmental challenges impede development. Over time, Africa's position has deteriorated relative to peers. Subregional variations also exist within Africa. The analysis seeks to identify suitable infrastructure targets given countries' operating environments.

The Town of Halfmoon is planning the construction of the Hudson Riverfront Park on appoximately 2.5 acres. The Park will include the following amenities: parking, canoe/kayak water access and docking, pavilion, restrooms, and waterfront overlook.
Champlain Canal Trail Planning
The Champlain Canal Trail Working Group is planning the development of the trail from Waterford to Whitehall, New York. The Working Group is led by the National Park Service; Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program State agencies, municipalities and non-profit organizations forom the Working Group to plan the 58 miles of trail
Halfmoon Exit 9 Linkage Study
The purpose of this study is to develop a comprehensive Corridor Improvement Plan (“Plan”) for the Towns of Clifton Park and
Halfmoon, in addition to improving the integration of land use and transportation in the area. Collectively, these improvements will
create a sense of place and identity for both Towns in a pedestrian friendly, mixed use environment.

This document summarizes a community workshop about completing the Champlain Canalway Trail from Waterford to Whitehall. The Trails Master Plan was prepared to provide a vision and detailed plan for alternative transportation and recreation for public review, comment and eventual adoption as the Town of Halfmoon Trails Master Plan.

The purpose of the Open Space Conservation Plan is to identify
appropriate strategies that will protect unique natural areas within the town
that could be lost to future development pressures. Goals for the plan have
been formulated with the Halfmoon community’s natural assets and future
course of development in mind. The analytical process follows a
groundwork that has been designed to achieve community goals. The plan
also identifies the principles and techniques that will be utilized to protect
these resources

This report was prepared for the New York State Department of State with funds
provided under Title 11 of the Environmental Protection Fund. Clough Harbour &
Associates LLP was selected by the Town of Halfmoon to assist the project steering
committee in completion of this study. The goal of this project was to identify an
exciting, yet realistic vision for the future of Halfmoon’s waterfront located along the
Mohawk and Hudson Rivers.

The Town of Halfmoon will conduct a feasibility study of potential trail alignments to extend the Crescent Trail along the Mohawk River in the vicinity of the Interstate 87 bridge. The project will study the physical limitation, environmental constraints and social concerns related to extending this section of the Crescent Trail. The project will result in a conceptual plan for the trail route with preliminary cost estimates, identification of potential funding sources, and plans for construction implementation and management.

The Town of Halfmoon (Contractor) will complete designs for a new park on the Hudson River for waterfront access and passive recreation. The waterfront park will be created on approximately a 2.5 acre, Town-Owned parcel with approximately 270 linear feet of waterfront. The park concept includes passive recreational space with picnic tables, grills and restrooms; a pavilion for gatherings; and car-top boat launch and small watercraft docking facilities; and a parking area. The project will include the preparation of plans, designs and construction documents for the park.

Vicinity Jobs’ data includes more than three million 2023 OJPs and thousands of skills. Most skills appear in less than 0.02% of job postings, so most postings rely on a small subset of commonly used terms, like teamwork.
Laura Adkins-Hackett, Economist, LMIC, and Sukriti Trehan, Data Scientist, LMIC, presented their research exploring trends in the skills listed in OJPs to develop a deeper understanding of in-demand skills. This research project uses pointwise mutual information and other methods to extract more information about common skills from the relationships between skills, occupations and regions.Financial Assets: Debit vs Equity Securities.pptx
financial assets represent claim for future benefit or cash. Financial assets are formed by establishing contracts between participants. These financial assets are used for collection of huge amounts of money for business purposes.
Two major Types: Debt Securities and Equity Securities.
Debt Securities are Also known as fixed-income securities or instruments. The type of assets is formed by establishing contracts between investor and issuer of the asset.
• The first type of Debit securities is BONDS. Bonds are issued by corporations and government (both local and national government).
• The second important type of Debit security is NOTES. Apart from similarities associated with notes and bonds, notes have shorter term maturity.
• The 3rd important type of Debit security is TRESURY BILLS. These securities have short-term ranging from three months, six months, and one year. Issuer of such securities are governments.
• Above discussed debit securities are mostly issued by governments and corporations. CERTIFICATE OF DEPOSITS CDs are issued by Banks and Financial Institutions. Risk factor associated with CDs gets reduced when issued by reputable institutions or Banks.
Following are the risk attached with debt securities: Credit risk, interest rate risk and currency risk
There are no fixed maturity dates in such securities, and asset’s value is determined by company’s performance. There are two major types of equity securities: common stock and preferred stock.
Common Stock: These are simple equity securities and bear no complexities which the preferred stock bears. Holders of such securities or instrument have the voting rights when it comes to select the company’s board of director or the business decisions to be made.
Preferred Stock: Preferred stocks are sometime referred to as hybrid securities, because it contains elements of both debit security and equity security. Preferred stock confers ownership rights to security holder that is why it is equity instrument
<a href="https://www.writofinance.com/equity-securities-features-types-risk/" >Equity securities </a> as a whole is used for capital funding for companies. Companies have multiple expenses to cover. Potential growth of company is required in competitive market. So, these securities are used for capital generation, and then uses it for company’s growth.
Concluding remarks
Both are employed in business. Businesses are often established through debit securities, then what is the need for equity securities. Companies have to cover multiple expenses and expansion of business. They can also use equity instruments for repayment of debits. So, there are multiple uses for securities. As an investor, you need tools for analysis. Investment decisions are made by carefully analyzing the market. For better analysis of the stock market, investors often employ financial analysis of companies.

"Does Foreign Direct Investment Negatively Affect Preservation of Culture in the Global South? Case Studies in Thailand and Cambodia."
Do elements of globalization, such as Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), negatively affect the ability of countries in the Global South to preserve their culture? This research aims to answer this question by employing a cross-sectional comparative case study analysis utilizing methods of difference. Thailand and Cambodia are compared as they are in the same region and have a similar culture. The metric of difference between Thailand and Cambodia is their ability to preserve their culture. This ability is operationalized by their respective attitudes towards FDI; Thailand imposes stringent regulations and limitations on FDI while Cambodia does not hesitate to accept most FDI and imposes fewer limitations. The evidence from this study suggests that FDI from globally influential countries with high gross domestic products (GDPs) (e.g. China, U.S.) challenges the ability of countries with lower GDPs (e.g. Cambodia) to protect their culture. Furthermore, the ability, or lack thereof, of the receiving countries to protect their culture is amplified by the existence and implementation of restrictive FDI policies imposed by their governments.
My study abroad in Bali, Indonesia, inspired this research topic as I noticed how globalization is changing the culture of its people. I learned their language and way of life which helped me understand the beauty and importance of cultural preservation. The Consolidated Funding Application (CFA) is the single entry point to apply for up to $1 billion in economic development funding from nine state agencies, including the NYS Canal Corporation. 2. The CFA can be downloaded at http://nyworks.ny.gov. You can also download a guidebook on the CFA Application Process and information on Regional Economic Development Councils. Information alerts will be sent to those who register a project. 3. An applicant may apply for multiple sources of funding for their project by filling out one application. 4. CFAs must be submitted online by 4 pm on October 31, 2011. Required attachments must be received by 4 pm on November 4, 2011. 5. Applications are project-based. 6. A submitted CFA is sent electronically to the Regional Council(s) for the geographic area(s) in which the proposed project will take place. 7. Each Regional Council will review and rank applications based on a set of regional “endorsement standards” following a similar template and available on the Regional Council web pages. Endorsement standards must be adopted by each Council by September 15, 2011. 8. Each Regional Council will assign from 0 to 20 points to each CFA received. State Agencies will score the applications for the remaining 80 points. 9. Six of the ten regional Economic Development Councils are in the Erie Canalway National Heritage Corridor. 10. Get Involved! It is important that everyone, applicants and non-applicants alike, be involved in the planning process of their Regional Economic Development Councils to ensure that the economic impact of heritage development, including recreation/trails, historic preservation, and heritage tourism, is heard and incorporated into the five-year Strategic Plans and funding priorities of the regions.
