The document presents a case study on implementing a constructivist laboratory education model called TriLab. TriLab combines virtual, hands-on, and remote laboratory access modes to maximize learning and accommodate different styles. An experiment found that introducing students to a virtual pre-lab session activated higher-order thinking and led to better performance and understanding in the subsequent hands-on lab compared to a control group. The TriLab model aligns laboratory education with constructivist pedagogy and Kolb's experiential learning cycle to improve outcomes.
