According to a 2012 ESG Research survey, 83% of large organizations found it extremely or somewhat difficult to recruit security professionals. 55% of these organizations planned to hire additional security staff in 2012. Common reasons for outsourcing security tasks included not having a large enough in-house security staff, lacking certain security skills internally, and security not being core to the business.
