CLASSMATE’S 1 DISCUSSION

The two tests that I have taken, both were about some form of
race. The first was about how did I feel about Iraqi Americans,
and then the preference of color for women to men I assume as
couples. On the first test, my answers were very neutral due to
my feeling that all individuals should be able to live a life of
freedom in the United States of America. I was getting more
agitated as the questions continued, but I do understand that it
is for the understanding of where I am mentally on the subject!
But, to ask these questions did make me think of the hatred that
people do have to deal with just because they are different from
others. The test also makes us realize the ignorance of our
country that no one wants to really talk about in our country's
history!
The second test was the test of preferring the color of men to
women in the situation of a couple if I am understanding it
correctly! This test may mean a lot to society and to the
census, but to me, it has no bearing. I understand that the
loving qualities between couples should have no color barriers
as well as not being able to have any judgments! But, we do not
live in a perfect world, there will always be judgments against
anything we do in life! we live in an unsatisfying society. But,
as stated earlier, I do understand that these tests are to see
where or how we actually perceive things before us in
understanding with being able to control our own personal
beliefs for a professional outcome. We may not always like
what is presented to us, but it is how we deal with it on a
professional level to pass our own biases!
This week's assignment required us to take two of the Harvard
Project Implicit tests and to describe the results we received
from each test. The first test that I took was
Race ('Black - White' IAT).
This IAT requires the ability to distinguish faces of
European and African origin. The results I received were

shocking as it stated that I preferred Europeans over Black
people. I am African American and I have friends from all
races and ethnicities however I do have more African American
and Hispanic friends. Growing up in Southeast Texas in a small
town called Beaumont, I experienced racism as a child. Being
the only African American female in my honors classes in
elementary and middle school had an effect on me. I can recall
in the 5th grade this being the case and other than myself, there
were 3 other African American boys in the class. None of the
White children wanted to sit by me or talk to me my first few
weeks at the school. Then one White girl by the name of
Lindsay decided to be my friend and after she did everyone else
followed suite and began talking to me. From that moment on, I
learned to accept and be proud of being of a different race and
worked just as hard to earn A's as my classmates who were
White.
The second test that I took was
Skin-tone ('Light Skin - Dark Skin' IAT).
This IAT requires the ability to recognize light and
dark-skinned faces. The results indicated that I did not have a
preference of light skin over dark skin which I agreed with. I
thought about the Kenneth and Mamie Doll experiment that
occurred in the 1930's. In this experiment, black children were
given the choice between white dolls and black dolls and were
told to indicate which dolls were nice/good and which dolls
were ugly/bad. The majority of the children favored the white
dolls over the black dolls. These dolls would later become the
symbol in the Brown vs Education Supreme Court case. Having
relatives from Louisiana, we have different shades of family
members from dark cocoa brown to as white as Snow White. As
a child I can remember an older cousin by the name or Laura
who appeared to be a white lady. Her skin was light and her
hair was long and curly past her waist. We thought she was so
beautiful and could not believe that she was kin to us. Because

of the diversity in skin tones in my family, it makes it easy for
me not to prefer one skin tone over another and I am glad this
was reflected in the test.

The two tests that I took consisted of comparing different races
and then comparing the difference in roles between male and
female. I am not sure how accurate the tests really were based
on my feelings about both topics.
The first test that I took determined that I thought less
of darker skinned people, which is absolutely ridiculous. By the
end of the test my mind was spinning and I happened to click a
few wrong answers. I do not base much truth off of these tests
due to the simple fact that I view dark and light skinned people
as equals in today’s society. I grew up in a school that was
about 40% African American. Many of my friends were African
American, and still are to this day.
Race is recognized among scholars to be a specifically
constructed category that describes human beings who share an
arbitrary set of hereditary traits (Zack, 2012). This is however
in contrast to its colloquial language, where race assigns a
biological basis to groups.
The second test I took compared the role of male and
female in the workforce and home. This test stated that I
needed to learn more about the roles of male and female.
Again, I am not sure how this is accurate in my opinion. I have
always been a working mother, so I personally do not believe
that a mother’s role is to specifically take care of the kids and
home while the man works and provides for the family
financially. A hundred years ago, this was not the case, and it

was the woman’s job to care for the children and home.
However things have come a long way and I believe that women
share just as an important role in the workforce that men do. To
be honest, I think a lot of family’s now have stay at home dad’s
while the mother makes the money. I do not see a problem with
it being either way. It is merely a personal preference in my
eyes. I can see how both of these topics can be controversial but
I try to keep an open mind to both.

Problem Statement
Coca Cola Company needs to focus on incorporating technology
to enhance customer focus.
It is possible that incorporating CRM, also known as customer
relationship management, into daily technical operations can
help the company in becoming more customer-focused. It refers
to a system that enables businesses to control their interactions
with customers.
For instance, Coca-Cola may achieve this aim by implementing
customer relationship management software. This would enable
management to communicate with customers more successfully.

The management of the company will be able to identify
consumer complaints more quickly, which will allow them to
quickly and effectively address these problems.
With the combination of Internet of Things IoT and CRM,
Coca-Cola Company can collect the customer data in a more
efficient and effective way.
Alternative Technology Approaches
For Coca Cola Company, the two main technology approaches
in customer relationship management (CRM) include the
following:
SalesFlare
The software is used by medium companies for B2B model.
The software helps in delivering random messages to the
various customers.
There is limited work using the software especially on contact
and engagement of the organizational professionals.
HubSpot
The software has a feature for live chats and chat bots.
The appeal and engagement to customers is on another level.
Tracks emails and effectively deliver them ASAP.
Automatically schedules meetings.
Qualitative Analysis
SalesFlare
Advantages
Helps in tracking sales data.
Engages the customers effectively.
A remote and virtual assistant is possible with the software.
Automatic email to the customers as a CRM.
Disadvantages
Mostly focused on communication only.
Relatively difficult to use and not as lively as thought.

Advantages
Has the live chat bot which makes CRM easy.
Relatively cheaper to acquire.
Multitasking and ease of use within the organization.
Helps in keeping the clientele engaged.
Relatively good since the customers have their was of
interacting with one another.
Disadvantages

to accomplish the organizational tasks.

The relative gain for Coca Cola following efficiency in

The success of the software development matters and
competency is accomplished through the right avenues and
quality in making things work as required.
