Lane Morgan was born prematurely at 36 weeks gestation via emergency c-section, weighing 6 pounds 7 ounces. He had difficulty breathing after birth and was admitted to the NICU. After determining his lungs were underdeveloped, he was intubated and given surfactant, which helped his lungs mature within 45 minutes. After being treated for jaundice as well, Lane was released from the hospital after one week and is now a healthy 6 month old.

2. I went into premature labor at 36 weeks of pregnancy.

3. At 4:29pm, beautiful Lane was born.

4. immediately after he was born he was whisked away.

5. He was a big baby but his lungs were under developed. He was having a very hard time breathing. He was kept in the nursery to see if his breathing would calm down .

6. Lane was admitted into the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

7. I did not get to hold him until he was 2 days old.

8. He had feeding tubes, oxygen tubes and a tube in his belly button to act as an IV and drawing station.

9. In the NICU they waited 3 days to try to figure out why he was having such a hard time breathing.

13. Lane is now a healthy 6 month old baby!
