5G changes present multiple opportunities for businesses across all industries. But they also change customers’ behaviour, their needs and expectations.
Once consumers get used to extraordinary speed and performance, the disappointment level will be huge when something fails.
However … (switch next slide)
Technical advantages of 5G:
5G offers many different technical possibilities, but applications usually do not require all of them at the same time:
Very high data rates up to 10 GBit/s
Very low latency under 5 ms
Energy efficiency with up to 10 years battery life
High density of up to 1 million devices/km²
Precise positioning to within 10 cm
High capacity of up to 10 TBit/s per km²
Extreme reliability of up to 99.999
User mobility up to 500 km/h
HealthTelemedical applications are also to be optimised with 5G. Especially structurally weak areas can benefit from this. In the future, video-based doctor's consultations, digitally controlled remote operations, telemonitoring and telemedical exchange between doctors and specialists would be possible. It is also conceivable that ambulances could be networked to transmit current vital data of the patient to the hospital.
"smart ambulances" are equipped with 5G technology This enables precise video diagnostics as well as the use of high-resolution scanners and thus an optimised treatment of patients already on their way to the hospital.

Autonomous driving
A prerequisite for autonomous driving is direct communication between vehicles in real time and high availability of the mobile data link. 5G makes this possible. The new technology for intelligent networking of all road users is called V2X (vehicle-to-everything). V2X determines distances and speeds, for example. Based on this information, the driving system can then automatically brake or accelerate. Automatic lane changes, assisted overtaking and the formation of rescue lanes can also be controlled with the help of 5G and V2X.
Moving vehicles
While the 3rd mobile radio standard (UMTS) usually let the user down at around 50 km/h on a car or train journey, good connections are theoretically still possible with 4G at 100-300 km/h. On the other hand, 5G is supposed to work reliably even at 500 km/h.
Less accidents by autonomous cars
The world's first self-propelled taxi is being tested since 2017 in the tropical city state of Singapore.

Industry 4.0 and IoT
The new mobile communication standard will open up completely new dimensions for the Internet of Things ("Internet of Things" = IoT) and Industry 4.0. The networking of machines and devices with the help of sensors will enable a wide range of application scenarios: Networking and control of production/plant/warehouses/logistics, intelligent maintenance, Smart Cities (intelligent parking management, intelligent street lighting and traffic lights, rubbish bins that report their fill level, etc.), Smart Metering (remote reading of meter readings) and Smart Home (monitoring and remote control of e.g. temperature, humidity and shutters as well as intelligent security measures).
5G: no latency
This allows combining automatic machinery for production of make-to-order production, so production may come back to the client
Smart or precise Farming are key technologies. They are mainly based on data analysis. They enable potentials such as:
Recognition of soil characteristics and yield capacities
Tools use artificial intelligence or machine learning algorithms to predict crop susceptibility to disease, and inform farmers of where exactly pests and diseases are affecting crops.
Pinpoint addition of fertilizers and crop spraying
Optimal operating costs, time savings and higher yields per field
Automated adjustments in real time in the field, e.g. track guidance
Increased machine efficiency and performance
City
In densely populated cities, the mobile network has to serve a large number of users at the same time. In particular at major events (e.g. sports or music events, Christmas markets and New Year's Eve) tens of thousands of customers often have to be served simultaneously in a very confined space. While 4G reaches its limits here, 5G will be able to guarantee mobile coverage even in these exceptional situations. Another challenge is coverage in difficult situations such as urban canyons and inside buildings. Here too, 5G scores points. And of course the new technology also benefits ultra-high-resolution images, video streams and online gaming.

In the future people will miss more and more to be balanced.
Social media will be still very important, however human nature will cry for real relations too.
Spending whole the day with technology will make our head, eyes and back dieses.
My (Herwig) lesson: new possibilities with 5G will give us more time to spent with the family, with friends, with ourselves, worktime will be much shorter, security for life and health much better.But, of course, 5G and all the other technologies will change our world and always there are also bad changes…
