School plays an important role in children's development by teaching socialization skills and establishing structure and routine. Teachers are key to guiding children through socializing, developing skills and knowledge, and incorporating technology appropriately. When technology enhances learning and is used respectfully, students will become better learners, citizens, and students under a teacher focused on classroom instruction and using technology to enrich activities.

1. School is such an important aspect of a child’s life and their process of development in
all areas of life. Socialization, to me, is one of the biggest skills that schools teach children.
Socialization has many branches including the ability to make connections with others,
becoming a good citizen as well as the diversity and community aspect of the school system.
Structure, routine and the development of leadership skills and knowledge in general are
another important role that the school system plays in children’s lives. Teachers are able to play
one of the most important parts during the child’s time at school. Teachers can guide the
children through socialization, structure, routine, and skill and knowledge development in the
classroom. Children will thrive in school with proper instruction from a teacher that recognizes
the importance of the classroom, school, and its role in society. Incorporating Information and
Communications Technology (ICT) is integral for teachers as well as students. Having the
knowledge and ability to use the internet and devices safely and properly ensures an informal,
respectful, and goal-oriented classroom. I will be striving to incorporate Smart boards and their
technology into my everyday routines and procedures with the children. When an activity could
be enriched by the use of technology, I will incorporate iPad use or computer time into the
students’ centres. With the use of ICT and classroomteaching, I know my students will be
focused on becoming better learners, citizens, and students.
