CONCEPT OF MARRIAGE IN ISLAM
Marriage is an integral part of a Muslim’s life, indeed it is too important in our religion Islam that it is considered to be one half of one’s Faith. Islam is not like the other religions that support and promote monasticism or celibacy, but it is a just religion and it takes the middle way in sexual relations, it neither allows it freely, nor does it condemn it like the other certain religions. Marriage is a great virtue and a means of salvation in our religion (Islam). It is our religious duty and a moral safeguard. Marriage is a contract made by male and female to live together as wife and husband and a tie that strengthen their relationship. It is because of this holy tie that families are established in our societies and communities. Moreover, it is the lawful and legitimate way to indulge in intimacy between a man and woman.

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Tauheed vs shirk in Islam
1. Tauheed (Monotheism) VS Shirk (Polytheism) in Islam
It’s a truth that everything can be understood by its opposite objects. The opposite of “ Tauheed”
is “Shirk”. Without understanding “Shirk” we cannot understand “Tauheed” and without
understanding “Tauheed” we cannot understand “Shirk”.
Reference : http://islamicencyclopedia.org/
Tauheed and Shirk has different
actions which are clearly defined
by Allah Almighty. This thing is
very surprised that after so many
explanation of the concept of
“Tauheed” and “Shirk” so many
doubts are still there in the minds.
Tauheed (Monotheism) gives the
concept “Unity” and “oneness”.
This term is closely related with
the “uniqueness” and
“Singularity”. The true meaning
of “Tauheed” is to have a strong belief that Allah Almighty is only one. Allah is one and only in
his attributes.
There are certain categories of Tauheed like Tauheed ar- Roboobya (lordship), Tauheed al
Uloohiyya(worship) and Tauheed al Asma (attributes and names).
In Quran it is clearly said that:-
“Your God is surely one”
The Quran says that:-
“Nothing is like Him”
2. All the powers belong to Allah. All the attributes which belong to Him belong only to Him
exclusively. He is the first and there is no last but His oneness. No one is before Him and no one
is after Him. He was before and He is now. In surah e Iqhlas it is said that
“Say Allah is one, Allah is everlasting, The external. He has not given birth and was not born,
and no one is comparable to Him.”
In Quran it is said that:-
“Allah is the light of heavens and the earth. Light upon light and Allah lights to His Light to
whom He will be”.
These verses which are taken from the Holy book Quran e Hakeem confirms the unity and ndto
“Shirk”.
The opposite word of “ Tauheed” is “Shirk”. This word conveys the meaning of “partnership”
and sharing. This word means “partner” or “associate. Shirk is associating partner with Allah
Almighty or giving a share which belongs to Allah alone. Shirk is the most hated sin by Allah. It
is one of the greatest sins. In Quran Allah says:-
“He will forgive all sins if He wishes except Shirk”.
There are different types of Shirk like Shirk Ismi or Jalli,Shirk Fi’ili or Kafi,Shirk vasfi and
Shirk e Zatti.
After understanding the meaning of “Tauheed” and “ Shirk” we can describe the difference
between these two. We should remember that the attributes which Allah holds can never be
associated with anyone else. The attributes which are related to us are not the same attributes
which are related to Allah Almighty. The difference is that his attributes of living is none be
stowed, while the attributes whice possess is one which we have been bestowed upon us is
temporary and non external while his attributes of living is eternal and non-be-stowed. If we can
understand this principle then the question of Shirk will never arises. Those Muslims whose aim
3. is to deprive the unity, peace and harmony of Islam makes it difficult to understand the
difference between “ Tauheed” and “Shirk”. So we should avoid these confusions.
