The Youth Outcomes Task Force met on November 1st, 2010 to discuss strategies to improve school attendance and social acceptance among children in the community. They considered interventions like providing incentives for attendance, transportation assistance, and automated wake up calls to increase attendance. To improve social acceptance, the Task Force proposed ensuring all children can participate in extracurricular activities, providing clothing and school supplies, and connecting children with coaches, mentors or older peers. The overall goal was to determine the best ways to address obstacles preventing children from succeeding in school and feeling accepted.
