2. Alternative Rock
Alternative rock (also called alternative music, alt-rock or
simply alternative) is a genre of rock music that came from
the independent music of the 1980s that didn’t become
widely popular until the 1990s - 2000s. In this case, the
word "alternative" refers to the genre's distinction from
mainstream rock music, expressed primarily in a strange
guitar sound, subversive and/or aggressive lyrics and a
defiant attitude.

Lifetime” has been placed at number 7.
This shows that Alternative Rock is still
largely popular and is successful in the
music industry.
This hints that my genre was a good
choice as it is popular and has a big
target audience and therefore a music
magazine based on this genre would sell
well.
