History of Alternative Music
● During the emergance of alternative music many bands decided to
follow this type of genre to express their feelings and ways of life.
These bands built underground followings by touring constantly and
regularly releasing low-budget albums. The albums would spread to
other followers that would build off of them creating new bands and
new followers, which then built a huge underground audience. Years
went on with the same effect, until the 1990's came. This was the
year where the band Nirvana had breakthrough success over the
widespread popularization of alternative rock. Nirvana came out with
multiple hit songs which people liked, creating more popularity. Along
with the help of other bands alternative music was on the rise, and
had become very popular within the past decade.
