1. Advertisements
Here are two advertisements that I
really like and have inspired my ideas
for my own horror film trailer

3. What I like about the advert...
I like the fact that its very modern and up to
date, its bright, cheerful and vibrant which
makes a viewer happier when they see the
advert. I like the idea of mixing reality with
fiction/a puppet; its creative and makes the
advert more eye catching than other adverts
and also more interesting due to its
uniqueness.
4. How I’m going to use this in my own
work...
After looking at this advert I have decided that I’m
going to use lots of different shots, movements
and angles much like they have; which is
impressive in such a short time period.
In concerns with the music choice; it links with the
bright happy modern vibe it is trying to create so
for my horror I will do a similar thing but at the
same time opposite (by using scary, dark, tense
music).
6. What I like about the advert...
I like the idea of happiness being spread amongst people
who don’t know each other in a place unexpected
(normally people are just passing through to go to
work so this would brighten up your day). I like how
unexpected it is and randomly people who you don’t
think are going to join in do.
I love how after they’ve stopped dancing they all just walk
away and appear to go back to their daily lives; it
brings a sense of freedom and excitement to every
lives and routines making it a very happy and eye
catching advert to watch.
7. How I’m going to use this in my own
work...
After looking at this advert I have decided that I’m going to
use an establishing shot to set the scene of my film trailer
so my audience are aware of where the film is set and they
are able to instantly make connections with stereotypical
things that remind them of that setting.
Another thing I particularly liked that I want to use in my own
work is the use of hand held shots. I think this makes the
situation seem more realistic and for a horror movie I think
it would create a great effect in scaring the audience
Lastly, overall I like how the whole situation was so
unexpected. In my own work due to the fact that it is a
horror I’m not going to do the same thing but I would like
to take this “unexpected” factor and create shots that
surprise and audience and hopefully scare them.
