Our target audience for the trailer "The Academy" is teenagers aged 13 to 18. This age group was chosen because the genre takes place in a school setting, similar to shows like Waterloo Road and Skins that also feature young casts and appeal to younger viewers. Teenagers would best relate to the school drama and humor since the characters are their own age dealing with issues relevant to that life stage.

Our target audience is teenagers
because the genre of our trailer
is based within a school. I had
used the Waterloo Road and
Skins as help in trying to
determine whom our target
audience would be. Because both
Skins and Waterloo Road have
young audiences and young actors, We decided to replicate
this.
I think the story we have
would appeal more for
teenagers because it’s in a
school background, there is
a lot of drama involved and
there is an element of
joviality because of the fact that young actors portray it. The
reason it’s 13-18 years old, is because I feel that is the best
time since people of this age would have a better
understanding of the concepts within the show.
